The starting OL was all back this week and they could not run the ball. And it was strange that KK kept running stretch plays that were losing yards and that he refused to give Miller the ball despite him playing well when given a chance.
No Olave, Shaheed, Means, Hill....

someone is always missing out of the lineup and KK has had to constantly readjust to what he has available.

You not kidding, dude was terrible today, but that's just my opinion.
Good opinion lol. He was terrible and has been all year with the exception of a couple games. He also struggles getting the plays called in quickly.

I believe Rizzi will make changes, he just can't now. I think.he lacks the authority to do so and well he can only work with what he has got. Can't get new coordinators mid-season so easily
He already made a change with the Defensive Line coach, putting Grantham in a "senior advisory role." Grantham is already moving on to coach in college. If Rizzi is eventually hired as Head Coach, I'd expect him to make more changes and mold the coaching staff as he sees fit.

Highlights KK's inability to adapt mid-game on the fly. A very necessary trait to be a successful head coach or coordinator in the NFL.

That doesn't really explain the issues with not being able to run the ball against a giants DL with UDFAs starting while you have your entire starting OL and #1 RB healthy. Yes, you don't have the QB power plays with Hill hurt, but you still should be able to run the ball and it looked like it was mostly the play calling and refusal to use Miller that was stopping them.

And having to adjust week to week and in game due to injury and/or opponent is kind of a major part of what NFL OCs do.

the motion change that the nfl rules implemented hurt the 49ers as well.

Yeah, I'm not sold on Klint Kubiak. I think he is gone after this year.

I think that Taysom can make anyone look good so Taysom was masking a lot of faults in KK's game planning. If he couldn't scheme a super winning way against the lowly Giants, dear God, the next four weeks are going to be abysmal.

Couple that with him being a Dennis Allen want/hire, right there is the proof that he ain't that great.
It's his first season. They started off hot and the injuries piled up and with the revolving door never really let up. I think he should get at least one more season. Coaches grow in their careers like players do. I bet KK will be better next season than this season.

That said, it really all depends on the HC situation. With a new coach, it's quite possible the new coach will want someone else running the offense. That said, I'm sure KK will get an interview and he'll be coaching somewhere if not with us.

I'm wondering if because he's been dealing with injuries, he was on a snap count. Or there are other considerations. Just seems like more to the story for him to be that limited.

As for the starting OL being back, maybe they were rusty or still playing at less than 100%. They didn't look good. But I'm just hoping it was an off week and they get it together this week. The offense is gonna need to score against the Commanders.

Yeah, the Giants basically dared them to throw. They were selling out to stop the run. So that's probably part of it. Curious to see what adjustments are made this week.

Actually it does somewhat. The defense can cheat a bit towards the LOS and it was clear they didn't really respect the Saints receivers. If the WRs are healthy and performing well, the defense can't do that much anymore.

I'd be more willing to give him another year if this was't more or less the same thing he did in Minnesota when he was the OC there. I don't think he's a bad OC and maybe he gets better, but I'd rather give someone else a shot than hope that he improves or that it was just the lack of talent. I think he designed a good system, but his play calling is very questionable. He could just be a Pete Carmichael type that never quite gets the knack for play calling consistently but has a few very good games.

I also really question his play calling after the Demario Davis interceptions. We ran almost no time off the clock and gave the Giants plenty of time to go down the field an kick a FG or score a TD. It might have cost of the game if not for amazing effort by Breese.

Anyway, I just hope they let the next HC have free reign in picking the next OC and I hope we can get a HC who is already a good OC.

But the few things we do have on offense are MVS who can get deep, a QB who throws a really good deep ball, and the starting OL back. If they were stacking the line or cheating up to stop the run they should have tried more deep balls to MVS to keep them honest even if they were not completed. Instead we ran a lot of stretch plays and end arounds that were resulting in lost yards and played right into the Giants strategy.

And even if they were cheating up or stacking the box, 2.8 YPC against a defense that bad at stopping the run is pretty bad.
