Late 80-Early 90 NBA....... (1 Viewer)

The mailman from Louisiana Tech was the most frightening finisher of that era.

Guess, I'm kinda alone here as I was a big Celtics fan and still am. However, I, like many here, have come to respect all of the 80's and early 90's teams that were great. My dad and I used to butt heads during the finals because he was a Lakers fan. Good times!

Yeah nothing like today’s game; I miss those days. I can't even name 10 current players; all the flopping and tick tack fouls made me lose interest. The guys go harder on Twitter than they do in the paint.

Naw, you are not alone. I was a 76er fan (loved Dr. J and Malone and Toney and Mo Cheeks) became a Celtic fan after they traded to get DJ (one of my all time favorite G's). I had always thought Bird was overrated until I started watching the Celtics more....I couldn't have been more wrong.....

Astonishing display of passing.

Another crazy aspect of the dynasties of the 80's and early 90's is that literally the whole starting lineups for those teams are all Hall of Famers. Especially the Lakers and Celtics. Pistons and Bulls also in the conversation but not on par with the Lakers and Celtics. Of course, only my opinion!

Miss those years/teams/players... I still like watching today's NBA at times... but I tend to lose interest after watching 80% of the teams not play any defense, only score in transition, make laughable passes, or see how many ill-advised 3 pointers they can jack up in one quarter.

Yep those years were when I really followed NBA. yeah I am going to go all Old Man yellling at clouds but todays’s game and players are SOFT. Today’s players all want to play together on one team. The 80s/90s players wanted to destroy each other. Yeah there was Isiah and Magic doing their thing before their games but there was no of this joining together like Lebron seems to like to do. Can you imagine Starks or Ewing buddying up with Jordan and Pippen to win a title? No way would that have happened. Add this “workload management” that today’s players seem to need and yeah today’s players are definitely not the same. Give me the 90s Bulls, Knicks, Rockets(my team back then), Pacers, Jazz, Sonics, Spurs over today’s Lakers, Warriors, Clippers, Celtics.

Hard to find a better passer than Bird. The other guy I think of is Magic. Top 2 passers in the league in their day. Simply amazing.

Those things may be true, but nobody did more artfully than White Chocolate. Except maybe Pete.
