The council voted unanimously to change the name to "Harmony Circle."

It's better than what the re-naming commission came up with. Egalité Circle would never be pronounced correctly in a city that mangles "Calliope."

Is there anything they could change the name to that old-timers would NOT continue to call it Lee Circle?

So, it's a bigger cop out than we even thought. Apparently it's just the grass area in the center that will be called "Harmony Circle." The entire thing including the street will revert back to the name "Tivoli Circle" which was the name before it was changed to "Lee Circle."

Honesty I don't have a problem with them reverting back to the original name. Had they not tried push the post Confederate renaming of everything, it probably would still be called Trivoli circle and no one even care.

My wife is named after the calliope. Lee Circle is still Lee Circle with an occasional nod to the tiv.

My roommate for my last few years at UNO was from Bethesda, the first time I met his parents his Dad pulled me aside and said "Man, you guys have some crazy street names, we drove down this one street called "Chapidalis".....it was....of course Tchoupitoulas St.....
