So what will the official name be? No matter what, it'll take getting some used to.
 
It was kind of crazy when this came up because I hadn't heard any updates but happened to have another tab open about Toussaint reading about him just tonight. I just finished Treme and was trying to figure out if the series had any redeeming qualities at all - not many. But it did capture several legends as themselves (and pretty much in the nick of time). Allen Touissaint, Doctor John, Ellis Marsalis and Fats Domino. Those other 3 should be considered for prominent naming as well IMO.

I thought they should rename it Marsalis Circle. Put a statue of Ellis on the pedestal playing a grand piano, then have statues of Wynton, Bradford, and Delphio on the ground around the base of it - playing their horns, obviously.

I think the name is lame and will likely lead to people just calling it Lee Circle, but what name do you think people would have used? Personally, I don't think people will start calling it anything other than Lee Circle for a generation or two regardless of what the name is.

I mean, I can't even recall what the new name for Jeff Davis is and I can't help but call Oretha Castle Haley, Dryades.
