Life comes at you fast: disappointment take after 15-12 loss to Eagles (1 Viewer)

Saints missed hill and McCoy badly today.

But again. Eagles had a ton of injuries. Saints defense got torched under 2 mins per the usual. They’re a great 58 min defense.

Saints offense couldn’t get a rhythm on offense today.

Anywho. I guess saints would be 1-2 at this point. And are 2-1. Off to the falcons.
This x 1000. I thought it was going to be tough without Hill, but losing McCoy early made it even worse....and the bad play call on the 3rd & 4th down. Put a fullback in and get the yard.

We were bound to lose a game, this seems a bit haunting though. Is Carr the same Carr? Is KK able to change the game plan accordingly moving forward?
Part of me wants to.blame the defense for this loss, but that would be an extremely reactionary, stupid illogical mindset because their the ones who kept the Eagles offense scoreless for 3 quarters and were responsible for a couple of great 4th down stands. One bad critical.mishap doesn't obscure the fact that they played overall, a good game today.

I do blame our offensive play-calling to.some extent even if KK had limited weapons. The biggest missing weapon was Taysom Hill. He makes those 3 and 4th and shorts we fork up on in the 2nd half deep in Eagles territory. Taysom brings an extra dimension to our offense that affects how secondaries and front 7's read and react to how a unconventional weapon like #7 bends their coverages.

If we have Hill today, we probably score 7-10 more points and while the game still ends up being close, I think we can better successfully wear down the Eagles defense more effectively.

O-line injuries + five-man defensive fronts. Also, no Taysom. Saints are going to need to dig deeper into Kubiak’s bag of tricks.

We are tied for the division lead and played a good desperate team down to the wire. We were suppose to be 1-2 right now but we are 2-1 about to destroy the Falcons next week. I think we are in good shape and now we get a week to get the OL back in order.

Kubiak looks figured out already. I couldn’t tell the difference between this week and a Charmichael offense.
Kubiak can’t make backup players play like starters. Some decisions are hard to make when you’re not sure how those backups will perform.

Offensive line was bad.. McCoy being injured didn't help; What was Penning thinking? You're not the blind side and taking the defender home.. Play calling was bad.

Defense kept the game close. Without them, we would've been blown out.
Credit Philly for responding, coming off of a short week loss. They looked to want the game more.

Did the Saints read and watch all their hype this week?

We shouldn't have loss this game. We'll see what type of team this is and how the respond next week in Atlanta.

The way KK strategizes offensive gameplans week-to-week and how Hill is such an integral.factor in his philosophy to.how effective it is is like night and day. Today is a good example of what our offense looks like without that Hill component in there to keep defenses confused and off-balanced, and a good defense like the Eagles knows all it has to do is constantly pressure Carr to the point that he'll come close to breaking or make key mistakes.

I want to blame Penning but Slay put his hands on and appeared to not let go and pulled Penning out of bounds to try and draw a flag, which he did.

Did Slay count on getting hurt while drawing this personal foul penalty? Probably not, but he didn't look too hurt jogging around 20 minutes after being "helped off the field, " screaming in pain", so if it ultimately contributes to his team winning a close game, its a risk he's willing to take.

we have no safety depth beyond honey badger. It was going to hurt us eventually

That’s not the issue yet!!! They had one guy that could catch the ball, and still the defense had no clue.

And Kubiak and the offense looked like JV out there.

Yes, sometimes next man up doesnt work out well.

That said Jalen Carter is the only defender on that team that will make the pro bowl. Why did Kubiak
insist on running Kamara right at him with a back up center?

This was one of the dumbest coached games I've ever seen from both teams.
Lol you saw that too. It was like one coaching brain was being passed back and forth across the field. Here you do something stupid gimme the brain it's my turn.

if I were an Eagles fan,I'd bee happy with the win,but would be asking questions also. Sirani left 6 points off the
board going for it on 4th down in a game where points were at a premium.
