I would think right now we are in a position where we will give the world for Lito Sheppard. I mean I would love to have Shockey but until he can cover a wide receiver he will not do us much good. I mean Drews passings stats were still crazy last year withought Shockey. We will need to keep our drafts picks to use for trade bait for a cb

The Eagles are working on a trade Sheppard for Fitzgerald so unless we're willing to ship them a top WR we won't be getting him. I also I doubt the Eagles would be too receptive dealing with the team that beat them in the playoffs two years ago. I've read through a few other NFC teams message boards. Seems that after trading Vilma fans started remembering how good the Saints were '06. But since we didn't address CB or DT those opposing fans are convinced we'll still be bad defensely and a non threat. I imagine most NFC FOs think similarly. So why would give us a piece to help complete the puzzle?

With Gay signing, I think we just signed our Free-Agent Corner Back. I do not think we will ship a pick off now, but rather draft a CB to groom. Antoine Cason or Patrick Lee or Brandon Flowers or maybe even DRC if he falls.

I think he's saying we need to keep our picks to use the on the Lito trade, as opposed to another trade like Shockey. I really wouldn't want to waste high picks on any TE this off season, which is good because we're not going to.

why can't we trade meachem, bullocks and a 5th rounder? we have no idea what we have in meachem. he never saw the field. if he is great then ok thats good we still survived with out him. we need a safety anyway. we upgrade the cb position a lot with gay lito and mckenzie with young and david making progress. we draft a cb in the late rounds. we get a DT round 1 and a safety/LB round 2 and a OT round 3. i like this idea.

What we NEED is a pass rush. Until we get one I don't care who is in the secondary they'll be toast. If we still work a trade, it needs to be for a pass rush DE or an above average DT like D. Robertson. We need to keep our #1 pick for Ellis/Dorsey/Gholston/Rivers...all would improve the pass rush. If we improve the pass rush I think we'll be OK at CB with Gay, David, Young and Craft, with MM back in the second half of the season.
