my favorite anime of all time. It's the anime that I show to people who don't like anime (or sometimes Lupin III Castle of Cagliostro)

Look who will be playing Spike.. I guess the more important question is who will be playing Faye Valentine?

If you were one of the many fans out there that was not loving the idea of Keanu Reeves remaking Cowboy Bebop; you might want to brace yourself. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Twentieth Century Fox is officially bringing the beloved anime to the big screen with Reeves attached in the lead. Now if you are a fan of the original show, you can guess just who I'm talking about when I say the lead -- that's right; Reeves will play Spike Spiegel, the interstellar bounty hunter who is *captain of the ship known as The Bebop.

Bebop was the story of a group of bounty hunters set in a time of interstellar travel and astral gates. When a lunar explosion decimated most of humanity, criminals were flung far and wide into the solar system -- enter the rag-tag crew of the Bebop to track them down. Peter Craig has already been tapped to write the script (who only has a few comedy shorts on his resume), but there is no word yet on who is going to direct.................

Never seen it, stupid name for a show that's not for 2-year olds, but sounds like a really cool story line.

awesome show. you should check it out

Not Keanu Reeves.:jpshakehead: He could singlehandedly ruin this for me.

It's an amazing show. I highly recommend it.

WOW!!! Next to Claymore Cowboy Bebop is my favorite anime ever. Not too keen on Keeanu playin Spike but thats Hollywood. I wonder who will play Viscious, Jet, Faye, and Ed. Good news!!!

I used to love this show.. I watched it all the time on Adult Swim. I can't wait to see the full cast.

I don't know about Keanu as Spike, but he may be able to pull it out.

Coming to Netflix in November...

My weeb daughter and wife will not be amused. They dislike all live action versions of anime. Anyway, I've seen the original and it's good. I'm not a big fan of anime, but there are a few good shows and Cowboy Bebop is one of them. It's a really good story without as much nonsense as a lot of anime. I'm not so sure about the live action and their choices for the actors for the characters doesn't inspire me with confidence.

they look the part

will Ed and Ein be in it?

They have shots of the dog playing Ein so he is in. Have not seen an actor for Ed. But, I think that kind of comedic character is exactly the type of character that they would drop from a live action show and the kind of decision that will make anime fans hate it.

wasnt Ed in only about half the episodes?

she wasn’t there at the beginning and if I remember right her father came for her with several episodes left to go

also integral to bebop: the music

they can’t mess that up

More than half I think, but maybe not by much. I think she shows up around episode 4 or 5 and she leaves with 2 or 3 left. Anyway, yeah, it better start with "3, 2, 1, let's jam" and then have the theme song which is just good music. And really, all the music is excellent.

I want this to work because I love Cowboy Bebop. Love it. But Netflix does not have a good track record of live action anime adaptations (really, live action anime adaptations don't have a great track record in general aside from some serviceable Japanese adaptations).

Ed is supposed to be in the show based on what I've read, but no casting has been announced. The season is only 10 episodes, so she would be a later addition if it follows the original series. She doesn't join the crew on the original show until episode 9.
