well ain't that just great...

I guess it's not completely surprising since Orgeron hasn't been exactly complimentary of Canada and lately has been speaking very highly of Emsminger, who I'd assume will take over the OC spot.

Not sure how I feel about the whole thing.

I'm getting my Dilly Dilly on at the moment

I think it makes Orgeron and or Alleva look like knuckleheads to make a big splash hire and fire in one year.

While I’m not saying Canada’s Offense is bad but I don’t think it’s quite as good in the SEC. His offense is a finesse offense that works well against lesser teams. But with the SEC, guys are strong and fast so it’s not as effective. I want an OC that can bring back a strong powerful offense that can line up and push defenses backwards and that can develop a dang QB. We’ve been recruiting top WR’s for years yet we barely throw the dang ball.

If Canada’s replacement is Ensminger, then this move will look especially bad. We’ll see.

This is sourced through Glenn Gilbeau, so we'll see. This looks bad on Orgeron and Alleva, especially this late in the game with coaches hires. Orgeron could very well have a candidate in mind to replace him. It's been well documented that Ensminger has no interest in the OC role on a permanent basis, but I believe he could be swayed to do it for a season. I'm not sure I'll believe any reports about Canada though until it happens.

Better not be, needs to be another splash hire... but this time someone Orgeron won’t butt heads, or meddle with.

I really hope Orgeron can get out of his own way, I was hopeful but am far from confident.

as for Hugh Freeze...

A) LSU's compliance is incredibly risk-averse
B) LSU's AD isn't hiring a guy that was just fired for breaking the law with university property
C) No matter what you've heard, O and Freeze do not like each other https://t.co/YmE7Z5V9gY
— Billy Gomila (@ATVS_ChefBilly) December 28, 2017

you are being...ummm....kind.

i would have used another term.

They need to redeem themselves on this next one or risk losing the program altogether. ( by losing i mean setting us back in recruiting top talent )

For the first time in years, I saw an LSU offense perform well enough to give the team a chance against Alabama. Were it not for the missed opportunities on the deep passes (one poor throw by Etling, a failure to properly track the ball by Chark) and we have a chance in that game.

This is some real BS, kind of what the O retractors warned everyone about...there is some buzz that he meddled in the offense against Troy, if so, it makes perfect sense....unfortunate and needless sense....

yeah i dont know why not giving him another year- and the kids another year to fully learn his system.

Obvious there is way more to this than just Xs and Os.

i thought O would be more malleable when it came to allowing his coordinators leeway. looks like i was wrong about that when it comes to the offense.

Cant be good on the recruiting trail tho.

Especially with O suggesting he'll leave the OC alone and let him make the calls. It is a really bad look.

This is complete, unsourced speculation, but I did find it curious that NC State moved on from Canada after doesn't a tremendous job with the offense and Jacoby Brissett. Now with a somewhat successful season in Baton Rouge considering the O-Line issues, injuries, etc. it seems that yet again he's going to be paid to go away.

He's rubbing someone the wrong way.
