Major League Baseball 2024 (5 Viewers)

What a disappointing way for the season to end, the standard is ALCS/ WS or bust not this crap

1-6 RISP
Stranded 6 runners

And Presley and Hader blew it

Losing that series is all on Joe Espada. He did a horrible job of managing his bullpen over these two games.

I was angry yesterday when he sent out Hader when the team is down 3-0. That was a complete waste of resources.

Had he been fresh today, he could have mowed them down like he did yesterday, but he's not a guy you can use day after day. If Espada had saved him, this game likely would have been a win.

Also, sending out Pressley with a 1 run lead is just asking to give up that lead. He's given up 1 run very nearly every time he's pitched this season. With a 1 run lead, send Abreu. You have a much better shot of holding that lead.

And something has to be done as far as the hitting coach because here in crunch time, the Astros didn't hit. Not yesterday, not today. It's okay that they had trouble against the obvious Cy Young winner for the year, but there's no excuse for today and there's no excuse for not finishing the game yesterday against the Tigers' bullpen.

There's a lot needs to be fixed this offseason.

Oh there’s plenty of blame to go around plus this was probably Bregman’s last game as an Astro

Tigers are a team of destiny it would appear. I'm a Jays fan asking if it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Sorry for the pain Stros fans.

Who reviewed that call at second? Joe Torre? He was clearly out. Even if in some unreasonable fashion one decided his foot was on the side of the bag (which it wasn't), his foot came OFF the bag while he was still being tagged. That's an out, plain and simple. Royals got the out, but the replay officials in New York uphold the incorrect call.
And now that guy who was out at second scored a go ahead run because whoever is reviewing the call in New York isn't being honest.
That's just embarrassing, MLB.

And we have the worst possible scenario. The two most horrible franchises in all of baseball (one of them - Yankees - the most horrible franchise in all professional sports) will be playing the World Series. And as noted above, a lot of their fans are as horrid as the franchises themselves. Spoiled, asinine fans and front offices that flaunt their ability to cheat the salary cap by simply paying whatever they want in salary and then handing over the luxury tax penalty that is nothing to them. BOO

Who to pull against  ? Can't they both lose?

Where is Bane when you need him?...

Go Dodgers! I've been a Dodgers girl since October 5th, 1963.

This is the 12th meeting. The Yankees played the Dodgers in 1941, 1947, 1949, 1952, 1953, 1955 (Dodgers won), 1956, 1963 (Dodgers won), 1977, 1978 and 1981 (Dodgers won). The Yankees are 8-3.
