It wasn’t just a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th, it was a walk-off comeback home run!

A walk off in a tie game is great - but a walk-off when they’re down is legendary

2 outs.

Came to plate looking for the fastball and got probably the only pitch he would see that would be a HR. And simply crushed it.

Ive watched his swing 10 times and it was absolutely perfect swing on the perfect pitch that ended in the perfect spot.

To be able to take advantage of that one moment is mind blowing to me.

MLB seriously believes in giving troubled, alcoholic celebrities more of a second chance then I would after massively screwing up singing the National Anthem just a few months before. I would let a few years pass so she could work her confidence and reliability back up again before hitting the high notes.

Or, at the very least so soon after her embarrassing performance in front of millions of sports fans nationwide and close to 45,000 fans at the All-Star Game.
Well, how many chances did Darrell strawberry get ? It pales by comparison?

Yeah - literally staring the loss down and you have to make a play . . . and you make the biggest play

It’s the greatest thing you can do with a single at bat in baseball, yes? The only way it’s any better is if it wins the series. Everything else in the whole sport is not as good as that

Totally.

I'd retire tomorrow after that at bat.

Hit the high note, leave em wanting more. Lol

.

Kirk Gibson-esque?

The wildest thing about that was that it was his only at bat in the series - he could barely get around the bases.

So yeah a walk-off comeback 2-out HR is very similar. But Gibson’s was a pinch hit by the team’s injured star/leader. That’s two extra layers of legendary.

I just realized Gibsons was Game 1 also.

Eerie. Lol

But yeah Gibson on two bum knees is legend.

I'm sitting here thinking ....is there ANY other sport where the moment/pressure and result matches this?

Basketball...nah. I mean half court to win? Still no real contest between 2 opposing players (pitcher v hitter)

Football...hail Mary?

Hockey? Soccer...maybe PK save?

I just can't think of a single sport where it comes down to just 2 guys on opposite sides where one hit ends it ( base hit or fly out/hit to infield and thrown out at first)

I'm still wylin out over this at bat.

Yeah I think baseball is unique - there’s no clock, it’s balls, strikes and outs. The game only advances when someone does something.

A game winning penalty shot in soccer or hockey is situationally most similar. But penalty shots aren’t the normal play of the game
