Not able too right now. Not allowed by my career and haven't risked it since I joined the service so not gonna do anything to jeopardize it now. Another year or two tho and I'll be seeking a legal place where I can enjoy as a responsible adult. If La. turns out to be that place, great. Otherwise, I have resources to move if needed.
yeah, it is pretty stupid that it something that you have to be concerned about. i've out on a lot because of that foolishness.

Just found this...

So that means that you can drive to the theater, park and then get high. Nice.

Technically no. You can't partake in public or your vehicle so unless the theater had a smoking room you risk a ticket.
"Public highway or right-of-way" means the entire width between and
2 immediately adjacent to the boundary lines of publicly maintained highways or roads
3 when any part thereof is open to the use of the public.
A parking garage is not a public highway or right of way.
Edit: It's still public though, but isn't your car an extension of your home?

IDK, seems like there's more to it than that. This is just the first step, now they go to court for a few years.

I'm sure I could be wrong but it seems pretty clear to me, you can't smoke and drive at the same time but if I park I'm in my vehicle which is considered my "home" so I'm not out in public so long as I'm not on the road. I should be able to park somewhere and smoke.

You can't sit in a car and drink afaik. I've always heard there's an assumption of imminent driving which officers can use too enforce. I could be very wrong, but I'm certain the owner of a parking structure aren't going to want folks using in the parking lot for legal reasons.

How that works out I'm not qualified to hazard a guess.

But then your car smells like weed for a while.

I don't really have a point and I didn't read the article.
I had already deleted the message because if you get pulled over and your car smells they may just issue you the ticket. I wonder if they have to see you smoking though? The law does state that you have to be pulled over for something else first.
A law enforcement officer shall enforce the provisions of this Section
7 only as a secondary action when the law enforcement officer detains a driver for
8 another violation.
