Mariota (1 Viewer)

Just win and stay healthy. It's a division game, so I have to stay realistic.

Anybody else worried about him scrambling to convert third downs all game. We’ve seen that before over the years.
I sure hope Dennis Allen reads this post. He probably hasn't thought of this possibility, being an ex-defensive coordinator NFL head coach and all.

Mariota is going to tear up this supposed dominat defense

quick 5 yard slants screens and crossess all game

3/5 new staters in the secondary? What can go wrong?

will have a massive amount of miscommunication on ATL pick plays. Who takes who? secondary standing still lokking at each other

Saints defensive front wont effect this game because Mariota will have the ball out quick or run designed RPOs

Jameis Winston 31- ATL 24
I just want to congratulate you on not starting every other sentence with “Louie thinks…” -or- “Louie says…”

I thought that was kind of your shtick… and happy to see it isn’t.
Still an off putting post though 👍

Nothing a QB contain cover 2 can’t cover. Sign me up , I’m good at madden 😂

Its a rivalry game so its going to be tough, but to add to that the Falcons having a scrambling QB and their coach probably will be implementing some aspect of the read option to the offense because of it will be a huge factor for his because defending those type of QB's has been a issue for us.

Wait a minute so if we win 31-20 our defense isn’t elite? This is nonsense. We can win by 30 or by 3 and it means the same thing, we won in week 1 and need to continue to get better.
Did I stutter? You heard me right. If our defense can't hold them below 2 TDs. Our defense isn't elite. They are horrible on defense and it's Mariota at QB. Hell, Andy is better. We show up for Tampa, we show up for GB,.........the Pats, but we can't hold Atlanta to 2 TDs?

Someone needs to remind me where in the NFL tiebreakers 'sending a message' appears.

A win is a win. Whether it's by one or one hundred.

It's only fans who want to think their team is 'for real' that demand 'big wins' or other such guff.

But mostly this bluster is just the fan equivalent of pregame nerves. Try to relax and enjoy the ride.

Yup! You get all the off-season trash talkers realizing it’s about to get real and crow is possible. Some folks are terrified of crow. Not me, I eat that sheet and get ready for more.

Lol the craziness you’re talking you might as well be stuttering. Keep typing that nonsense though. It’s great entertainment

As if week 1 determines anything about a defense being elite lol

Its not just about our Defense being elite, its about us being a serious contender...the Bills came out and bent the defending SB champs over on their home turf. If we cant come out and dominate a team that is probably going to be bottom 3 in the entire league, that says a lot about where we are in terms of contending for a title...This should be the equivalent of a CFB tune up game against a FCS school, about as close to one as you're going to get in the NFL...anything other than total domination will be a disappointment. I don't want to win 24-17 against Monmoth...I want to hang 50 in the first half.

I mean seriously……you think this dude is capable of making sound decisions on a football field??? Look at that shirt. The fit, design, pattern, buttoned all the way up?!?! New Iberia haircut as the cherry on top!!! This is 2022, not 1996. I blame the woman in that picture. How does she let him leave the house looking like that?
New Iberia haircut! Hilarious!

We stomped Green Bay 38-3 in our last opener. So where is our SB trophy from last year again?

Week 1 proves little. All this domination chat does is anger the football gods.
We were a good team at the start of the year last year....good enough that we finished with a winning record despite starting 58 different players last year. The team we started last season with despite the glaring hole at WR was a deep playoff contender. We lost our QB1 week 7, and our only legit offensive weapon (Kamara) week 8-13 and was still able to claw out and damn near make the playoffs.

Regardless, if we struggle against this bottom of the pot Falcons team, we have problems, that's not even worth arguing

Week 1….just win. If week one dominance meant that much to a season we wouldn’t play 16 more weeks, elite coaches wouldn’t say the biggest jump is from week 1 to week 2.

Dominating the falcons doesn’t solidify that we are some contender and barely winning doesn’t solidify that we aren’t. We have a QB that hasn’t played in a long time, a number 1 receiver that’s banged up and hasn’t played in even longer, two new safeties, another banged up starting corner, a brand new head coach, etc. Just win……

The Bills are a better team than us currently. They also played against a team who lost their biggest leader/best offensive lineman, lost two of their top 3 receivers, and a QB coming off major surgery who’s arm clearly isn’t 100%.
