Mark Ingram 18 for 97 (5.4 ypc) 1 TD (1 Viewer)

Yeah, the line and the team all deserve credit for the win. Still, it's hard to ask more than 5ypc out of any running back, even at home in the regular season. Ingram has taken quite a beating on the SSF, but today he delivered in the second most important setting possible -- on the road in the cold in the playoffs. I've got hope that he can do the same in the most important setting possible, but we have work to do before that, starting here in Seattle.

I really loved the play calling, I was scared there after the last 1st down that Payton would get cocky and call a pass play.

Great win, the first one on the road, for our beloved Saints. I was pleasantly surprised by the play calling of Sean Payton, as he continuously run the damn ball down the Eagles' throats. Moreover I'm really happy for #22 Mark Ingram, who showed up BIG TIME, in the starter role, with the following stats:

18 runs for 97 yards, 1 TD
3 receptions for 17 yards

So I hope that we (well, actually the "Ingram' haters") can finally put up to rest all the talks about his lack of production or him "being a bust" (or simply "inefficient"...you know, I usually like TCUDan analysis, but IMHO he is/was way off on #22). So now let's go to Seattle and avenge our Monday Night loss against the Seahawks. Who Dat!

To be fair, Robinson was Just as good ( if not better ), but had less touches. Anyone know what his average was?

I must admit that I was not happy with Ingram. Looking back, I think I just hated to see Chris Ivory go. Anyway... I'm no football expert, but I was wrong about Ingram. He is a beast. I will now cook a pot of crow gumbo.

This is from the Alabama board. I found this pretty interesting and figured you guys may as well.

Mark Ingram has had in three years 356 carries for 1462 yards. That is three years worth of carries. Arian Foster with comparable carries of 351 gets 1424 yards in a year.

A game or two does not greatness make. However, his vision, determination, and production was really impressive.

I'll agree with this. As much as I am not an Ingram fan, we won and he contributed, big time.

Kudos.

Congratulations, Mark Ingram. You showed up in the most important game of the year. You were a BIG BIG part of this victory.

Omar from the Wire and Ingram should have had more yards, but we had to beat that dead horse called passing the ball.

Actually, now that you mention it...

The question I have, from any knowledgable fans...

Did philly give us the run to drop back and play pass d or did we just stuff it down their throats despitr their best efforts?

Ingram's playing noticeably better on an individual basis - independent of the OL. He's getting yards after contact now and he's hitting the hole much more consistently. It wasn't the case earlier this season.

Robinson has been a beast pretty much all year.

They were a fantastic 1-2 punch tonight.

Though I'm glad he did it, why hasn't he done it over the last three years? If he is capable, why isn't he consistent? Bravo for the performance tonight. But, until he can do it 2-3 times in a row, I still don't believe in him.

But it feels like he can do it 2-3 times in a row, doesn't it ? His YPC is extremely pleasing the last few games. He just needed the opportunity.

I am glad it worked out this way. I can't wait to see the duo punishing defenses again.
