Mark Ingram 18 for 97 (5.4 ypc) 1 TD (3 Viewers)

Being able to punish defenses with the running game totally changes the identity of this team and enables us to open up the playbook on the road.

Big props to Ingram and Robinson for some hard-nosed running against a tough front, but let's not forget to throw some love Armstead's way. We have found our left tackle. We're probably only one, possibly two players away from having a dominant O-Line again.

Props to ingram.

As one of his biggest former doubters Im Happy for the guy. I still say that the receivers and Grubbs are the real problem but the play action really helped meachem tonight.

Ingram is the real deal.

The last 4 games he's made the most of every touch. I haven't looked it up, and I know he barely got the ball in StL, but I'm pretty sure he's getting over 5/touch for the last month.

This game actually makes me hope that Pierre sits the rest of the way because it forces Payton to be balanced.

Though I'm glad he did it, why hasn't he done it over the last three years? If he is capable, why isn't he consistent? Bravo for the performance tonight. But, until he can do it 2-3 times in a row, I still don't believe in him.

You mean like the last 3 games where he's averaged over 5 ypc? Granted we sat him early against TB but his 2 best games of the year also came against top 10 run defenses while on the road. 2-3 times in a row...

I know facts don't interest you but I think that his 2 best games have also come against great run defenses is pretty damn amazing. It's not like he's using powder puff teams to pad his stats.

Thank you Ingram! I am happy to say that I will no longer fuss when you touch the ball. I will actually be happy if you get the ball more often. Man that feels good to say. This positivity is much better than the no faith feeling I had in you. I've been having faith in KR, and I'm happy to see him get more touches as well. Way to run the ball coach! New year= new run game! Feels great!

It's been like 5-6 games in a row now. I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt now.

I'll admit I was bashing Ingram based on the production I saw. I don't care about Alabama or LSU. But I must admit his production has turned around recently. I don't know why, but I will take it. Was he injured? Is line playing better? He seems more decisive now to just run inside rather than dancing to the outside, although I saw that once or twice. I hope he can keep this up. If he can do this in Seattle, I will eat my crow. But much respect for what he did last night.:worthy:

I agree. It wasn't just last night. He has been running hard for several games now. Perhaps he was hurt earlier in the season, but he is running hard and doing a great job. We still need Thomas for the passing game, but Ingram is running the ball well.

I have always been a fan of the passing game but watching the game last night sure made me happy. Watching our team just keep pounding the ball play after play and watching their defense get winded towards the end was awesome. Who knows how much their tired defense allowed us to march down the field on our last drive.

This is the Ingram we expected. Quick cuts, power, vision. I have no idea who that other guy was. I can't help but think he had a lingering foot injury for a long time because this does not look like the guy that ran to the line , danced and fell down. This is the guy many of us were excited to get. The even better news is #29 might be even better then 22 given a chance. He is downright explosive.

I'm a huge fan Of Drew and the passing game but it's become clear that we can't do it on the road for some reason without drawing up the defense with a run game. I know we can't explain it but it's definitely a proven commodity. .

He has been banged up,the toe gave him problems earlier this year. I think combine that with the oline woes earlier and not going with just one back slowed him down. After the Dallas game Drew made a comment that this is the healthiest he has been as a pro.

A game or two does not greatness make. However, his vision, determination, and production was really impressive. We ran the ball right at them and had a ton of success doing it. Robinson was really good too. He reminds me of watching Deuce his first year while Williams played.

I'm really liking Khiry Robinson also. Guy has heart. Hope to see more from him in the future...

I've been neither an Ingram basher, nor an Ingram defender. I've mostly waded past the 10 bazillion threads on him. Now single game criticism, whatever, that's fine, but the BS of bashing him as a bust has got to stop now. Today is the final nail in that coffin.

I've never been an Ingram basher or hater, but I've hated his running.

Now he is running better, and it should make you ask yourself "What's different?"

Was he not motivated for 2 years?
Was he injured for 2 years?
Is our O-Line better than in the past 2 years?
Are recent opponent's run defenses suspect?

If we can run on Seattle, I'll be more convinced.

Ran well last night. Looked dominant.

He has turned it on the last 1/2 of the season. Hope he keeps it up, we REALLY need it.
