NFL Draft Mel Kiper or Mike Mayock: Of the two, who has more cred in your book?

Mayock, but I also think some of our posters in the Saints Forum are just as good. Even though we have some very one-sided opinionated folks of this board, they're also very knowledge and talented at what they do. Saints forum is always my first stop.
Love this take. The draft is the best day of the football year (unless you’re in the Super Bowl) and even though we have a fraction of the data the teams have, sometimes we all make a better pick than the scouts.
Almost Every single person on this board wanted Lamar over Davenport and guess what we knew better than Jeff Ireland.
I always love when we nail one and that player becomes a fave forever. I wanted Reuben Mayes in 86 and loved the guy. Also got into a nasty row on here for suggesting Doug Free was a better pick than the O lineman we took over him in rd 3 and who hardly played a down.
But then I wanted Reuben Foster so bad I’d have picked him at 11 😀
The draft is meant to be fun after all

Mayock for sure over the last decade or so. Kiper I believe did better when he was putting out his draft guides but since he stopped IMO he studies the draft just enough to sound knowledgeable on TV.

Only thing about Kiper I like is the way he talk. He can say so many things without missing a beat. But of course I get lost with what he is saying because he talk so fast. And don't forget about the hair. Personally those two aren't my favorite. But for this topic...Mayock. But for my personal favorite I look at the most .. Daniel Jeremiah

Does anyone know if we’ve ever did an after draft grade of all the big name prognosticators to see who has the best hit rate for a whole 1st round?

The 1st time I heard Mayock and his lisp was when he was the color announcer for the beast mode playoff game.

My choice is Mayock. His overall reasoning seems to make more sense.

:gosaints:
Have read draft analyses for over 40 years. Easily Kiper is much better. Kiper and Bushbaum have always been the most reliable in analyzing the players and I miss both of their draft guides. Kiper is a big part of the reason that the NFL draft became such a huge media event. I do not put much faith in any mock drafts as that is just purely entertainment in my mind.
