While I agree, those services are game changing for preventing situations like this. But I think you overestimate people. Working in the service industry for 15 years, you realize a lot of people aren't playing with a full deck.

I once took a $250 Uber to get home from endymion. All my friends made fun of me after, but it was money well spent. I made it home without hurting myself or others.

No matter the accomplishment of having reached the highest level of one’s career, with the notoriety/fame, success, money and everything else that goes along with it, stupid is, stupid does. It is stupid and he did stupid. What a shame for the deceased and the family of the deceased. Ruggs needs the book thrown at him, in the harshest way. Jail time is a must, considering the APPARENT, circumstances. But we’ll see as all the facts need to come out.

And while there's no excuse for drinking and driving, Ruggs is 22 years old. This is going to be a hard, life changing event for him too. He's likely going to be suspended from the league for a year and he's probably going to face other consequences, litigation and possibly lose a lot more, all for making the decision to drive while intoxicated.

The victims family will be traumatized and this whole thing is sad all the way around.

Those side roads between those casinos for the most part have no room for error sober much less intoxicated.
