Very tough call on who's the most dynamic out of Shaheed and Olave, I have to give the edge to Shaheed.
Shaheed is faster than Olave, but Olave runs very good routes, and is better at working the sidelines.

Carr is one bad dude! Notice when he drops back to pass, he looks right to draw DB’s that way, then at the last millisecond he turns and throws left to Rashid. I know that’s what all good QB’s do but in the height of the moment, the biggest play of the game, he has the tenacity and composure to play this out to the paramount. No question he’s a great leader for this offense! He’s become a Saint at the perfect time in his career. Moreover, a time when our Saints need a great QB. If he gets hurt because of poor O’line play I’m gonna be sick!

I just watched a YouTube video of this by James Skrmetta. Came here to see if it was mentioned.
Doesn't surprise me. As I have mentioned here before, I have been following Carr since his Fresno State Bulldogs days. Lived in Fresno almost 40 years. Came back home to New Orleans a few years ago.
Carr's interception 3 days ago was a head scratcher. Makes even a fan of his question his QB smarts. We've all heard Raiders fans and others say that Carr will move the ball between the 20s, but then choke in the Red Zone. While his interception didn't occur in the Red Zone, it was close enough.
Carr is a QB. Not just our QB, but a man who has the mind of a QB. He is analytical. Confident. Talented. Unselfish.
Happy to be able to cheer for Carr again.
Hopefully it will be for more than 4 years.

Damn Penning. You freaking need to protect better than that.
There was actually twist at the line. The guard should have passed the dt off to penning, rather than opening the gate, and then picked up the DE slanting into b gap. Pass protection is less man/zone and more gap (man and zone just defines how you play your gap).

Penning had a terrible game, and his technique still wasn't great there. But that play wasn't on him.

I find it a little interesting that Shaheed rather than Olave was Carr's chosen wideout to run that game-clinching play. I get that they expected the safety to shade to Olave's side, but interesting nonetheless.

As fast as Olave is, Shaheed is quicker/faster, more explosive and a big play guy. Olave is our Tory Holt/Marvin Harrison while Shaheed is our Tyreek Hill. All are fast, but their games are different. It looks like Shaheed is viewed as our big play guy and Olave as our smooth steady guy.

Shaheed is also better with the ball in his hands after the catch. He has open field moves and can force a defender to miss a tackle. Olave is moreso catch and fall to avoid contact, or run right outta bounds lol. I’d love to see him add some after catch moves like Garrett Wilson has. Just may not be his game.

Really???? Looks like he had to throw the ball half a second early just because. Then looks like he got hit and almost had his leg hyperextended.
It seems like you would see all the thorns on a beautiful field of roses
instead of smelling the fragrance of the roses. Carr called a great play and we scored a winning completion. ( by the way, it was a good block)

Yeah and he could of gotten seriously hurt but I guess that not a concern to you.

Shaheed probably had 2nd or 3rd CB on him, so not that surprising to me. Weakest link theory. But it sure is nice to have 3 real receivers in our WR corps.

And people use this phenomenal bit of history to throw shade. Umbeevable.

But man, that clip got me more fired up than anything since...

I’d really love to see DD and Carr do the huddle together like Brees started to do when he was getting up there

For all the Carmichael haters, It was a great play design. We had 5 route runners on that play. Sheed as the X receiver, Olave in the slot, Thomas as the flanker, Taysom as the TE, and Prentice in the backfield.

Taysom chips the DE to help Penning and runs a shallow crossing route which draws the safety and freeing up the 1 on 1 matchup for Sheed.

Prentice faking pass protection and slipping out after Taysom on a shallow out route to keep the LBs home.

Thomas as a flanker forces the nearby safety on his side to stay home until the ball is in the air.

And Olave running a slant across the middle with his defender on his heels.

It was a terrific example of forcing defenses to pick their poison. And they chose wrong.
