Mickey Loomis’ End Of Year Press Conference (1 Viewer)

He looks like a man who is really enjoying the spotlight.

Continues to find any excuse he can in terms of Trevor Penning and Payton Turner.

He’s really defensive about his choices at HC and QB. Basically says it’s easy to blame them, but they aren’t the problem.

They're his guys, so I'm not surprised. I think that's why he's got this cocky and arrogant demeaner. He's trying to tell the fanbase that they're worth getting excited about.

EDIT: "Look beyond the record" in terms of Dennis Allen. HAHAHAHAHA.

The body language is really weird.

Loomis is chomping on gum. Loudly and rapidly.

Yanked out a piece of paper from his back pocket to rattle off a list of great coaches who had rough seasons their first few years to defend DA.
He’s always been a bit odd for pressers. Aside from the gum, I don’t think he’s acting “weird”. maybe a bit more relaxed and open than previously.

And telling the fanbase “shut up, y’all don’t know any better” in a nice way

TRIPLETT WITH A BANGER QUESTION.

Cites how he wanted to keep the culture in sticking with DA originally, on the heels of him being asked about his team meeting with the players.

New coaches usually start with teams that won 5 of less games the prior year. The Saints haven't been in that situation since 2005 and before that 1999. DA inherited a team that won 9 games under the worst circumstances imaginable and he wasn't even a new coach, just promoted. Huge difference.

To be fair, DA didn't inherit that team. They lost some quality players because of the cap and absolutely nobody at WR. And Payton was lucky enough to get a HC job when 10-6 got them the #2 seed. The NFC was pretty bad that year. And then there's the HOF QB thing. That's not the standard. And as far as the easy schedule, 3 of the Saints losses are to teams still in the playoffs.
