I don’t dislike Carr at all but if it’s between he and Jordan that’s a no brainer for me.

Cam is an all time Saint and still has some in the tank, don’t want to see him play anywhere else. Before the “he’s washed” posts, look at our edge depth. It’s terrible.

Would like DD to finish here too, apathetic about Tyrann.

He isn’t. Maybe top ten but not third. I’m not exactly a Carr supporter but not a hater either. I’d put Bobby Herbert, Jim Everett, and Jeff Blake all ahead of Carr on the Saints All Time Great QBs list.

Not for this season no. You’d be eating like 50mil all this season. We literally wouldn’t be able to sign anyone except vet minimus and we’d have to restructure a lot of deals to get under the cap for 2025 which hurts our 2026 cap.

He's going to run the same system he ran with Philly. Carr would actually be a great fit for that system.
Only thing he doesn't do well is the "Tush push" but that would be Taysom's gig if he returns.

Hurts had like 14 rushing TDs and over 600 rushing yards this season….that is the exact opposite of Derek Carr.

I doubt Moore wants any part of Carr but Mickey might have made him have no choice for at least this year.

Fans don’t understand this and I can’t stress this enough, Mickey lets the coaches make most of the decisions. He gives more leeway to coaches than most GMs. Loomis just does the accounting to make it legal.

I’m not really sure what you’re trying to say? He has no one to blame but himself for the seven games he missed this season. Both times he was injured it was on scrambles where instead of sliding he dove forward and try to make a play when nothing was on the line. Can’t be that negligent as the QB.

The problem with making him a June 1st cut is you’re paying him 10mil more in bonus for being on the roster, and then you have to do all kinds of reworking of deals to get under the cap within a month, way before you get to June 1st.

That’s the cost of doing business, but he has offset language that would give us that 10 million back in 2026 depending on how much he signs for elsewhere

Right and that’s good but that’s not the immediate concern. The immediate concern is we’d have to shed 52 million in salary by march 13, 2025 before we could get to June 1st and ultimately 2026.
