MM to be on ESPN First Take (2 Viewers)

I never liked MM until today. I have been a lurker fan of the saints since i was a kid and have become a die hard the last few year, and MM always rubbed me the wrong way but i got to say he sounds like a very good guy that gives back to the community and now i like him.
I'm not sure why. I'm not even IN the community and I know that he gives back in a big way and always has.

Not to mention there is pretty much not anything unlikeable about the guy.

I remember when Payton first got hired and MM said he didnt feel like he was in Paytons future plans or something to that effect and i thought oh great a guy that needs special attention from the coach, but i must say i guess i judged him too harshly (like i said kinda a new fan so i didnt know much about him), but i got to say i like him now, he seems like he has a good head on his shoulders and i hope he heals quick cause we are going to need him.

I remember being at a Jets/Saints game in New York and when the fans where messing with him, he took it in stride and put his hand to his ear, asking them to get louder. He really got them going and I loved him as a Saint ever since.

If Deuce was the problem, why did we lose the first four games with him?

Also talked about cutting the long hair. He said it was ridiculous to target the 2-3% of the people in the NFL with it, because it is a cultural thing for him, and could be for other people as well. He says the only way he would cut it is if Tom Benson or Loomis themselves came to him and made him cut it.

he actually said Benson or Rita, but all in all ur dead on.

I never realized how many little ticks MM had on camera. Kind of started bothering me after a few minutes.

I love the dude, though. Great interview btw, First Take. Great job not even asking about how his injury is. Cause that's not what matters now, it's all about the NCAA.

Worst. Interview. Ever.

The header on the screen, which never changed the entire time, said "Saints Offseason Report". There was not ONE SINGLE WORD about the Saints offseason, Mckenzie's rehab, or the Saints draft.

A. Pathetic. Joke.

That show annoys me almost every time i watch it lately. Guess its because this is the dullest time of the sports year if you don't like college basketball. If its not the annoying hosts then its something stupid that either Skip or the idiot de jour that's across from him says. For some reason something different seems to happen on that show or on ESPN in general that bothers me. I remember when NFL Live was doing the Saints draft day, they hyped up an interview with Drew and they never talked to him.

i'm sure most of us know, not sure why the players don't. NFL is not asking anyone to cut har, just don't let it hang over name on jersey.

Let me know if there's trouble with this clip too. If you dont see a play icon double click the middle of the screen.

It freezes from time to time, but if you just wait a few seconds it eventually continues. Thanks! :9:

>>I never liked MM until today.

He's been all class even before he was established here. My daughter got to meet him at school in 2004 (?) and got an autographed photo. He was great with all the kids and is often seen on the schoolyard being a positive member of the community. And a word to everyone - don't let looks ever fool you. Because someone has a different hairstyle, color, ethnicity or religion should not define them by any stereotype. Good people and good citizens come in every variety. :17:

Thanks for the recaps and the clip. ( :bigbow: )

edit: I also have Memphis defeating North Carolina. :worthy:

Excellent point......when Mike was a Packer I thought he was a bad news character guy but after hearing him speak you understand that he is a very classy guy that like to help out.If not my favorite Saint then he is Second.

SuperSaint,

I agree that it left a lot to be desired. After all, they mentioned nothing about Predator's rehab and when he expects to be back to 100%. But it is NOT the worst-interview-ever. That happens when you get NOTHING factual out of the interview.

Here's my vote for the WORST (...even though it was somewhat entertaining):

Crogers: Thanks for the heads-up.
St. Chad: Thanks for the video link.
