Most Memorable/Emotional Jim Henderson Call of 2009 (1 Viewer)

You, Sir should just leave now....I go to that and 1:08 everynight here in Iraq and I will never let go of that unbelievable feeling never.....

I agree,... how can it be lame if the emotion is real? It is my most memorable call. The Spanish version is a real tear jerker!!!!

my favorite :hihi:

Brett Favre goes back to pass, he pumps! Now he fires over the middle... intercepted. I can't believe what I'm seeing right now. It was intercepted by Tracy Porter, nearside to the 40 and John Sullivan chases him down at the 47-yard line. You've gotta be kidding me, I can't believe what I just saw. Looking at that play, he should have just held on to the ball. He shoulda... he could have easily gotten 5 or 6 yards, if he would have just pulled that thing down and dove forward.

BUT WHY DO YOU EVEN PONDER PASSING!?!?! I MEAN YOU CAN TAKE A KNEE AND TRY A 56-YARD FIELD GOAL! THIS IS NOT DETROIT, MAN THIS IS THE SUPER BOWL!!

For me, it's Porter's interception in the Super Bowl - "IT'S PICKED OFF." You can just picture Jim going nuts in the booth. I tear up everytime I hear it. He takes a deep breath before he says it, and just lets all his emotions out. You can hear in his voice what all of us felt. We are actually going to win the Super Bowl. I know there was time for the almighty Peyton, so it wasn't like it was over. But this sure put some space between us and the Colts.

"PIGS HAVE FLOWN!! HELL HAS FROZEN OVER! THE SAINTS ARE ON THEIR WAY TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!"

"HE DID IT TO FAVRE, AND NOW HE'S DONE IT TO MANNING!!!"

"GET READY TO PARTY WITH THE LOMBARDI NEW ORLEANS!!!! THE MIRICALE IN MIAMI HAS HAPPENED!! THE SAINTS HAVE WON THE SUPER BOWL!!"

-B

I like these.

It's gooood just had so much emotion in it. You could hear years of disappointment vindicated in 1 breath from Henderson. It was like it was all worth it for that 1 moment to finally have arrived.

GOO-OO-OOD was the lamest. I thought I was listening to Mr. Kenneth on Walton & Johnson.

Come on man! That was his best, most heartfelt call ever. You could hear his voice crack, and you knew he had tears of joy in his eyes.

Mr. Kenneth my butt...:jpshakehead:

My favorite was the call of Porter's INT of Favre. I was so dejected, as the Vikings were moving down the field, and when they had 1st and 10 from the 33, I thought it was over. I just kept thinking to myself, "It can't end like this...it just can't. This season has been too special for us to lose like this." After stuffing AD twice, then the Vikes inability to count, I was feeling a little better, but not great. I'm sure most everyone was feeling the same feelings at this point. So was Jim Henderson. You could hear it in his voice. At the beginning of the play, you could hear the tension in his voice...he was nervous and worried, as a 5-10 yard gain would put us in serious danger. Then when Porter picked it off, you could hear the excitement in Henderson's voice. That call embodied all the emotions that I was going through during that point in the game, and that's what a great call should do.

By the way, if anyone has the audio of that call, please post it here...it would be greatly appreciated. :9:

"ITS GOOD!!! ITS GOOD!!! ITS GOO-OO-OOD!! PIGS HAVE FLOWN!! HELL HAS FROZEN OVER! THE SAINTS ARE ON THEIR WAY TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!"

I dont think i`ve ever heard that much excitement in
Jim Henderson or any other saints fans voice ever.

this is clearly the answer. you could feel that "monkey off the back, FINALLY WE DID IT" emotion just pouring out. The feeling that this is what we bleieved in for 43 years. This is why we kept buying tickets and supporting this team through so many lean years. This is why we love football. It was all encapsulated into this one call. This one kick. This represented the death of the Aints. It was our dreams coming true. And Henderson channeled every ounce of that emotion. Its the greatest call in Saints history. I dont think the super bowl ones were as great because by that point, we knew we were in the big game. WE knew we had a chance to win. but actually nailing THE kick in OT in the NFCCG to reach the big game just could not be topped. It was as if we had been outside the house of the elite in the freezing cold, looking in at the great teams of the past, starving to get into that warm house. To experience what it felt like to win. To be respected. And we finally got through that door.

This!

This is the one that gets me the most. I think it hits me hardest when Jim's voice raises to another level of excitement at the instant he sees Porter getting past Manning and he knows he won't be caught!

I listen to it every time I need a few tears. :shy:

Here's the NFL.com video. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d816481db/Saints-31-Colts-17
Go to the 5:10 mark to hear Jim's finest moment!
