this is clearly the answer. you could feel that "monkey off the back, FINALLY WE DID IT" emotion just pouring out. The feeling that this is what we bleieved in for 43 years. This is why we kept buying tickets and supporting this team through so many lean years. This is why we love football. It was all encapsulated into this one call. This one kick. This represented the death of the Aints. It was our dreams coming true. And Henderson channeled every ounce of that emotion. Its the greatest call in Saints history. I dont think the super bowl ones were as great because by that point, we knew we were in the big game. WE knew we had a chance to win. but actually nailing THE kick in OT in the NFCCG to reach the big game just could not be topped. It was as if we had been outside the house of the elite in the freezing cold, looking in at the great teams of the past, starving to get into that warm house. To experience what it felt like to win. To be respected. And we finally got through that door.
You took the words right out of my mouth dude...I got chills just reading this post. If only to add one thing is..right after Jim said "It's goooo-oood"..he faintly laughs this kinda insane/sigh/chuckle laugh...and that to me says it all. That little laugh represents..to him..all the miserable games he had to call in order to get to this point..like it was all worth it and the misery is finally over..it's just relief to him and I totally relate to it..my favorite by far...nothing will top it.
