N/S Cutler trade to Bears (mega merge)

Some Broncos fans reactions: http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/messages/chrono/14338949

" Maybe we can make Orton our kicker. lol "

" NFL Network:
Denver gets: This year's 1st(18)....next year's first.....this year's 3rd and Kyle Orton......WOW.....
I think I just puked in my mouth!!! "

" OMG. this is horrible.............. Kyle Orton!?.....are you kidding me..........?
wow"

" congrats josh mcdaniels. you now have no defense and no qb. way to go. 2 years at most and you will be gone and you will have set my team back 10 years. thanks alot. "

" WHAT THE FREAK HAS HAPPENED TO THE Broncos OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS!?????? "

" This is a great trade! What are you guys talking about? What did you expect? "

I understand those feelings now and many other bear fans do. I cannnot even get on to our MB.

You should be happy..Cutler is a FRANCHISE QB. The Bears gave a lot..but could you have gotten any player of the same impact this year or next year?? probably not. The Bears still have holes..but they just fixed one of the biggest.

Brees is great. QB's can only control so much.

It took how many years for Peyton to make a superbowl with that crappy defense? I'm glad he finally did it, but it's hardly something to point at as something every good QB should be able to do every year.

Well, you're taking me down a road I didn't really want to travel, and that I don't think is as pertinent to this thread. But i'll bite.

It took a while for Peyton to make the SB. But Peyton's team makes the playoffs every year. Drew's doesn't.

You should be. The people here aren't thinking clearly and most don't like Cutler as a person anyway.

2 1sts and a backup caliber player for a great franchise guy that'll lead you for the next 10 years at least?

The Bears were probably going to spend a 1st on a QB anyway this draft. Obviously they aren't happy with Orton. So for an extra 1st they get a proven guy who's really good instead of a rookie with the 18th pick alone.

I'll admit that I was surprised by the two first and a third (get a fifth back) and Orton. I like Cutler and this is huge for Chicago. Just didn't think it would take that much to get him.

Yep, not to mention Cutler grew up a Bears fan. The town will instantly love this guy and he will not be playing under Elway's shadow.

Culter played at Mile High stadium.

I havent been to Mile High, but I have been to soldier field. Sometimes that wind is blowing there so hard that its hard to function at all. I dont know if its the same in Denver. I know it gets cold, but that win in Chicago is insane.

But this is much better than him going to Tampa or a dome because he will have to battle the weather. Not to say he wont still put up some numbers, cause obviously he has talent, just not the best of conditions.

dam. worst case scenario. I hate the Bears lots more than I hate the Bucs. Now I fear the Bears even more with this offense and the defense they already have. God no :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Now I wonder how long it will be before Cutler starts demanding a new big time contract.

A 24 year old elite QB wasn't going to come cheap. Whoever traded for him was going to give up the farm.

they are a contender again...just glad its not the bucs
I seriously doubt it! You must think Cutler is just that good. Who's he gonna throw to? Who's gonna compliment Matt Forte. Besides Rickey Manning Jr., and Brian Urlacher, who are they gonna scare with their defense? Nothing in Chicago screams, "hey world, we are getting better"!

Cutler has only proven one thing thus far, and that's Cutler having huge arm strength. Yeah I know he threw for over 4,000 yards before, and made a ProBowl, IMO by default. ProBowl really doesn't mean much anymore. Too many really good atheletes get snubbed...ala Brees

Jay Cutler=Aaron Brooks
Strong arm, horrible mechanics, non-leader!

+1

i believe in Cutler as a franchise QB, and i dont necessarily think the bears got screwed, but they definitely paid a steep price.
