N/S Pats fans going off on Cooks and Brady (2 Viewers)

Remember when people were crying that we traded him away? We should feel blessed that we got a first for a high end number two receiver. In hindsight, we got a top 10 tackle for him.

And thank you Malcolm Butler for not signing your tender. He has looked pretty meh this year.

So we end up being able to move on from Cooks in exchange for the pick that landed Ramcyzk and the pick that I believe led to Hendrickson. And then in not acquiring Butler, we remained in need for corner and were able to take Lattimore.

Hindsight is 20/20 but whew. That all worked out pretty well for us.

No doubt it, we dodged some bullets here. Just imagine having Malcolm Butler and Cooks instead of Latt and Ram. We'd have a totally different team.

Cooks was a good player but he wasn't a game changer. People talked about him being the next Antonio Brown but that just isn't the kind of player he is.

And people were demanding that Loomis never speak to Belichick again because we always get taken in deals with him.

But the worst part is that he thinks he is. That will not only show up when its time to negotiate the next contract, but it woll likely be something that effects his overall attitude througout his career. He thinks he is one thing, but his production will never match that and he will forever be looking for some external reason to explain why that is so.

I could be wrong in that assessment, but I think SP probably felt the same way.

hard to argue we won the trade? Try saying that when Strief, Artmstead and Peat or Kelemente are on the sideline hurt. Best trade in years.

Completely agree, but everybody knows that hindsight is 50/50.

I don't see why the would be angry about the trade now. He is who he has always been, a guy good for about 1200 yards, 7-8 tds, and being one of the top deep threats in the league. It's a personal preference whether or not you are in love with that, but it's who he was when they dealt for him and who he is now. He's held up his end of the bargain.

We don't have a WR with the potential for a 97 yard TD reception any more. That's about all we are missing.

IDK. According to all reports, Ted Ginn is just as fast as ever (remeber TGIF = Ted Ginn is Fast during camp?) and can take it to the house from wherever. We just haven't drawn up, called and/or executed the play yet.

You may be proven right about that. I'll be delighted to be wrong.

Telling the truth on Cooks though. He will not fight or sell out for a ball. Thats the difference between him and a guy like Antonio Brown. Both have great hands, both run excellent routes, both are on the smaller side. Antonio Brown fights for every ball, get hit or not. Cooks doesn’t fight for the ball, and does not even want to be tackled. Senses contact and goes out of bounds, lets the pass go, or goes to the ground.

Funny thing about all the gloating in this thread considering that our WRs can't get consistent separation now.

Cooks wasn't great at separating either. Hursh. People were screaming our WR's couldn't separate when he was here.
