This is pretty greasy. Why would you publicly throw so many NFL people under the bus? No need to directly go after coaches, GMs, owners, etc. Sometimes coach speak is absolutely needed. In this case a simple, "I feel like changes were needed" would've worked. Everyone would know exactly what he meant. No need to get personal with it. I don't understand why he would do it? What does he stand to gain by burying these people? This seems more like a conversation between two NFL people behind closed doors that was picked up by a hit mic or something lol. Dude is just straight up nuking people in front of everyone for no reason.

Sean Payton's pettiness was endearing when he was our head coach. Now, not so much. He better win this year because he's been running his mouth pretty much nonstop for months.

The criticism was clearly warranted. I said it before you don’t go from a top 5 QB for years to looking like a bottom tier QB overnight unless you have a lot of help from the staff around you.

You do fall to bottom 5 if you were never a top 5 to begin with.

I am grateful for the culture change but he rode this horse into the ground. Once Drew was done he was done. To be fair I was tired of him. Tired of trying to be fancy all the time. Throwing when he should be running etc. I also seem to recall yelling at the tv frequently to hurry up to the line and get the play off. His teams seemed to be very lackadaisical.

Drew and SP made each other. It was a perfect storm. Saying that we should have won another championship. I blame that on him. He was the captain of the ship.

I will forever be grateful for that Super Bowl but I don’t care for how he left. I think he gets exposed this year.

I wish him nothing but the best! I'm grateful for what he did for the team and the city and hope his next gig is as successful as the previous one. I think it'd be great for the Saints to meet up with the Broncos in the Superbowl!

I know he's no longer a Saint but we’d be lying if we weren’t somewhat interested in casually following around how Payton is doing. And this article was very good and peak Sean Payton. He really pulled no punches. I’m glad he’s in the AFC so we don’t have to actively root against him (though I know some fans will still because they feel he ditched us)

Because it gives him an out for this year and next when they go back to back with 6 wins. Nothing buys you more time than saying the other guy messed up SOOO bad that it’s more than a two season job.
