To the OP who started this thread and all of those who agreed with his sentiment: Apparently you've never been to a baseball game, because otherwise you'd enjoy watching it. You do know that we have a pro baseball team, don't you?

Oh I've been to baseball games- Zephyrs, Dodgers, etc... And you are correct, baseball is far better in person than it is on TV. But for purposes of this discussion, I was mainly talking about television and radio, and how the airwaves (mostly ESPN) are dominated by baseball for several months around this time of year. And I think that- just as we can all agree that baseball's pretty cool in person- we can also all agree that watching it on television or listening to Dan Patrick drone on about it on the radio- is slightly less enjoyable than a root canal.

The thing that gets me about ESPN's coverage of baseball in April is that it completely takes away from another sport that is entering the playoffs. Hockey. In April, baseball is practically meaningless, but hockey is entering the playoffs, yet no coverage.

I agree that it is hard for me to watch Sportcenter this time of year...to much baseball! Although from what I have seen on there this year its pretty funny, most of the teams that buy there way into the playoffs by overpaying players and robbing small market teams have gotten off to a bad start...nice! Hate baseball! Just going to enjoy the Stanley Cup playoffs and the NBA when it gets rolling. Ready for the draft already!

Semi-Pro dude, minor league. BASEBALL SUCKS:ezbill:

Yes it is and it always will be. American history = Baseball history.

Question: Why doesn't congress start holding hearings to uncover the abuse of steroids in football?

Answer: 'Cause no one cares.

Why? 'cause Baseball is the heart and soul of this country. You may not like the sport, but you are far and away in the minority.

If no one cares then why is the superbowl broadcasted in more countries than the world-series? Countries that don't even have football watch football and if no one cares about it why are you here? Isn't there a zephyrs forum or something you could be talkin this crap on? Check the web address, www.saintsreport.com not I'm so much of a pu$$y I need to take steroids to hit a ball w/ a stick.com.

If you don't like baseball, don't watch it! Hockey? Golf? These are your other choices?

Now, I like watching the occasional Zephyrs game or LSU game in person but I cannot watch them on TV unless it is clutch time(9th inning down, men on base) or the postseason...but regular season baseball... :ipuker:
