Seriously, 311 was a good example. Homebrew was awesome.

As there ever been a swifter, more pronounced transition to soft in music?

I didn't even know that about them. I hate them and it's mainly cause of fergie and that my humps song. very interesting.

worst ever band dissolving so another could form - Tool > Perfect Circle.

i am not sure what you mean by this but Tool was still together when APC was formed

and as far as i know, both bands are still together

I did not remember all the details. Tool was the most incredible band I heard come around in a long time and I guess I made assumptions. The production was all coming from APC for a while though.

Thrice

Illusion of Safety and Artist in the Ambulance were excellent.

After "Artist", they sound like they were neutered

Also,

Trivium didn't get soft, but after "Ascendancy" they lost their identity a bit IMO. Still an excellent band though

the entire sellout phenomenom surround BEP can be summed up very simply by listening to two of their songs.

first one (UMG is very adamant about removing this song whenever it shows up on youtube, forgive the link, its the only one that worked)
this is from their first album, and features Redfoo, a member of *****.
Black Eyed Peas - Duet download song in mp3 free, listen to online

second one

how do you go from saying "doin this aint all about money money" and " if ya aint got no money imma still MC" "forget ballin cause i wont quit" to blatently selling out?

keep in mind, both of these songs have Will.I.Am, APL, and Redfoo.

Megadeth: Anything after RIP starts the decline....then you end up with the super pile of crap that is "Super Collider" :jpshakehead:

Metallica: Everything after "Justice For All" makes me embarrassed to ever admit I was fan. :jpshakehead:

Soundgarden: After "BadMotorFinger" They started the decline...then after their next album "SuperUnknown" they really pooped the bed. :jpshakehead:

I have many more....but it's just too damn depressing really. :(

There's some good ones in this thread, but I'm going to throw Offspring into this thread.

They went from this:

To this:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/FAlZyajmcIM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I'm going to try not to threadjack to much, but I'm curious why people feel that the Metallica "black" album is a bad album? I personally like the album almost cover to cover. Can anyone elaborate on what makes it bad?
