New CBS mock draft has Saints selecting LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier in 2025 (2 Viewers)

I got upset and turned off the TV. As always in a huge game, Kelly has his team unprepared

Does it happen? Yes, but always in a huge game, nah.

And give A&M some credit, they’re a very good football team. Sucks to admit it, but it’s true.

As for Nuss, he’s nowhere near ready for the pros. He might get there, but he’s too inconsistent to be an NFL starter.

I don't blame the coaching for this one. Nuss made poor decisions and it cost the Tigers the game.
Yeah he did. You can't let coaches off the hook either.

33 yards rushing, 3 missed FG's, 4 dropped passes and a 22 yard differential of starting field position between the two teams, on the road, at night in the SEC. How many QB's win in those situations? If LSU makes those FG's, don't drop the passes, have just an average running game and Nuss has an entirely different game and outcome.

I'm a Nuss fan. The kid has got some of that it factor with a great skill set. Right now, I view him as a mid round pick though. He's still young and inexperienced. Somehow we forget he's only started 8 games. He looks better than Jayden or Burrow at this stage in his college career. I think he needs another season in college to even be thought about as a first round pick.

I think Nuss IS ready but I think he needs to play another year to lock up being a first rounder
He can spend next season developing behind Carr. Idk if he is the best prospect, but drafting a young qb to develop should be a priority

Or we could just suck for 1 more year and take Arch...
It would have to be a special.kind of suck. Teams are probably going to try very hard to do this, of course indirectly.

33 yards rushing,
3 TAMU dominated the trenches. LSU had no shot running. They averaged less than 1.5 yards per carry. A&M was simply better up front. Still LSU managed to move the ball up and down the field the entire first half.
3 missed FG's,
The is on the ST coach. Idk what the heck was going on, but the snapper and holder were nowhere near on the same page the entire night. They need to get that sprted out this week.
4 dropped passes
WRs dropping the ball isn't on the HC.

It wasn't too bad in the first half, mostly that was the missed FGs giving A&M good field position, and they couldnt do anything with it. LSU only gave up 7 points in the first half so the dedense did their job there.
How many QB's win in those situations?
Rarely.

Absolutely. I'm convinced Nuss' injury affected his poor secpnd half play. He tried not to show it, but you could clearly see him limping around at the start of the 2nd half.

Agreed. I want to like Nuss, but he's still way too inconsistent and makes poor decisions. Maybe with more experience, he improves his play, and next season he grows into a confident starter, but yeah, no where near ready right now.
