New CBS mock draft has Saints selecting LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier in 2025 (1 Viewer)

It’s almost like some of yall have never seen the game of American football before……. Nuss didnt look too bad to me .
Was 22/51 against a defense that played
Furman
Middle Tennessee State
Wake forest
Georgia southern
Kentucky
South Carolina

Let’s hold the reins back some.

He was 22/51 and up until the last two minutes of the game and overtime, he was playing terrible. He showed guts to make some big plays at the end, but that hardly makes it a good game. He had maybe 5 good throws all night. But three of them were amazing throws.

Yes he has sucked against 3 major schools
Who did he suck against ?played well against USC, South Carolina and everyone else. Tonight was his worst night and he still finished with 330 yards 3 tds and a game winning TD pass in OT. It’s called overcoming adversity when you not playing near your best. That’s what a winner does.

Had some receivers missing and Had a rough night admittedly but made some unbelievable throws and led his team to a win over ole miss best team in decades. A legit top ten team. Had his worst game of the year and still led his team to a win.

It was only his 7th start of his career🤣
He’s not supposed to be super polished, but he did what he was supposed to do and that is win the game. Every single QB has had bad games before. Even the ones with a wealth of experience

I'm just passing along info, not saying im on board with it or not.. hopefully Rattlesnake will show out and negate the need for a QB in 2025.. but what i am saying is that im old enough to remember his dad Doug when he played for the Saints, and that if you live long enough- you will see some crazy, full circle ish, like the possibility of a son playing for the same team his dad did.. that said, id much rather have Arch in a couple years .

I want Sheduer Sanders and Jimmy Horn Jr. to be our picks no matter what! Build the OL around him and its a wrap. Maybe the K-State RB DJ Giddens also.

Not super polished? He looked absolutely terrible until the last 2 minutes of regulation. He gets credit for not giving up, that last throw in regulation and overtime, but he was overall bad in that game. Guts and not giving up isn't enough in the NFL.

You touted his 70% completion rate and he was 22/51 in this game. That's 43%. That's not going to play in the NFL and he should do much better in his 7th start. But as I said once he had to play a decent defense he was not good.

And my whole point was he wasn't ready for the NFL and needed at least another year of college to develop, but now I have to hear how it was only his 7th start. After this game, I'm not sure he ever gets there. He continues to throw into coverage, refuses to take check downs, has very suspect accuracy, and refuses to run into open running lanes. He has a lot to work on.

You’re grading a guy who has only a half of season starting. Do you expect this guy to be Joe Montana?
