New CBS mock draft has Saints selecting LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier in 2025 (1 Viewer)

It’s all that we can go on bc there are games that must be won in there. Not every team will be a cupcake team. So he has played against three quality opponents so far, in his young career. He’s won two. So that’s more winning than losing. In regards to our team, last year and this year so far, we’ve lost more against quality opponents than we’ve won. No agenda, that’s just how it goes. One thing I won’t do, is excuse someone for only beating inferior opponents. Have to prove that when the stakes are a little higher, that I can be free of most doubt. Nuss will have to prove the same thing bc his sample size against quality teams are coming up. So, he’s doing what he needs to as of now. The rest is TBD

I mean winning isn't a QB stat and stats in college don't always translate to the NFL. Maybe he improves, but at this point he's not making all the throws you need to in the NFL with accuracy and he lacks the ability to move around in the pocket. I mean if a South Carolina player had not committed a personal foul with a blind side block on him, he would have had a pick 6 in that game and it would have been a bad loss as a result of it. He and LSU got very lucky in that game.

Maybe he improves and he does have some skills, but he's not there yet and needs another year to work on things like working the middle of the field and ball placement.

Tom Brady made a dang career out of being lucky. No one but TB12 haters like myself remembers all of those lucky breaks. Had those breaks not gone his way, he would not be considered the GOAT. Just saying. Like my basketball coach used to say…… “Luck counts”.

Generally speaking, it's ridiculous how qbs are drafted now. I remember Anthony Richardson was maaayyybe a first round pick when he first declared, and then went top 5.

It seems to be the only position where the so-called experts say the right thing to do is reach when your team has a need. Just because you don't have a guy means one in the draft is a guy.

Most recent Bucs example, Mel Kiper gave them crap for taking Calijah Kancey instead of Will Levis. Will freaking Levis.
Facts. Richardson great athlete phenomenal arm but was not very good at Florida although he could give you some wow plays. But people would tell you take him for potential over a guy that has shown he can better play the position although tools may not be as elite.

Nuss is not a good college QB much less a good pro QB.

At LSU you can just chuck it up to a fleet of elite WRs but tonight the better ones are out and he cannot make the necessary throws.

All of those that are saying that Nuss isn’t a first rd talent is fooling themselves. This dude is 2nd in the SEC in passing yards. Has 15 TD to 4 ints. While playing 1 less game than the others. Spreads the ball around and he is doing a fantastic job with the lack of running game we had, minus the past couple of games. He didn’t leave to seek out immediate playing time. The dude stuck it out and waited his turn. He’s no coward or soft as Charmin. Excellent leadership qualities as well. That’s what you want out of a QB.
8 TDs against Nicholls and South Alabama…

I dont know whats worse Nuss play or the coaching. They allowed him to keep playing tonight even though his completion rate is just above the freezing level
