How can the vote be 100% "meh" and 9.1% "hate it"?

'85 and '86 onboard the LaSalle (AGF-3).
Edit: Wait a minute, that's not right. It was 89 and 90 onboard the Antietam. lol THAT'S how much fun it was!
The 86-87 port visit was actually the 2nd time we went in there that cruise. I think on the second time we went in was christmas eve day and stayed until after new years. The bar I was at new years eve had balloons tacked to the ceiling and when it hit mid night he girls used there cigarettes to pop them and shower us with champagne.

before Katrina and then first, maybe, 2 years after; the bonfire on Orleans Ave was awesome
neighbors start hauling their trees et al out of the house around 11:45, stacked them up and lit them after the countdown
right after Katrina it leaned a bit into a bacchanal with people just needing to let loose
then karens started to karen

spent 99/00 NYE on a rooftop in NYC and it was interesting for not being interesting - being 13% sure planes were going to fall out of the sky as the city descending into blackness - just hard to know how to react to that - "yay, i guess"

So it was Cloverfield before Cloverfield.

Great big meh. I’m usually up but don’t do it on purpose. Occasionally go watch fireworks but not often. I used to would watch some of Dick C until he had a stroke or whatever made it depressing. I did get to pay $20 to park in the quarter today instead of my Normal 5, so I got that going for me.

The year of Katrina, LSU was playing in the Peach Bowl (Jamarcus' last year?) and we had tix. So people were in town for that, New Years, and they had relocated the Sugar Bowl from the Dome. Since we weren't wearing Saints gear, it was actually a good time in the ATL for NYE (I know, I know, but with so many out of towners it was fun!)

Where do you normally park for 5?

The dueling barges fireworks is pretty cool with the band accompanying it. Did that once. I jump up and down and clap like a little girl.

On Canal. Almost to I10. Yes the fireworks are cool but I can watch that from Aligiers. I wish the city would reclaim the batture on that side and make it a park. Best view in the whole city except for the barge companies.

Loved the bonfire. It was refreshingly unsafe.
