NFL.com says the Saints won't make the playoffs (1 Viewer)

I'm accused of being negative. I'm just realistic about this team.

The two most important things on a contending NFL team are:

1. Elite, top 5 QB
2. Top 10 HC

At best, Carr is maybe around 15. I personally, have him in the 20s due to lack of leadership and intangibles. He's like the anti Jake Delhomme for example. Allen is definitely a bottom 5 if not worst HC in the league IMO.

But what about the Defense!?

It's old.

Davis and Jordan are ancient. Granderson is a fine player if he's your No. 2 DE and you have a stud pass rusher opposite. You don't. All hope rests on an oft-injured Chase Young on his third team in his short career. That's hope. Maybe it works out, but objectively, if he was that good, he would still be on Washington or SF.

Your CBs have some talent but injury issues. Safeties are either old or meh.

The offense is just a trainwreck.

I count 4 players who I consider starting caliber: Kamara (who is slowing down), Olave, McCoy, and I'll throw the rookie LT a bone and give him the benefit of the doubt. Shaheed is a fine No. 3 WR and Hill is a great gadget player. But you have no starting caliber LG, RG or RT. No No. 2 WR. No starter level TEs. And like I said, a middle of the pack QB, who isn't exactly the most inspiring guy.

Maybe, maybe a great HC could eek out a winning season with this group. Dennis Allen? Yeah right. The only question IMO, is if he makes it through the year.
NOOO? you ? negative? why would anyone call you that? LOL. You make all obvious points thats been talked about since DB and SP left the building. What you arent realizing is that every point you make is the absolute worst case scenerio of that point. For all of your points to come true, the odds would be astronomical. Becasue in reality, its extremely rare that the absolute best or worst case scenerios happen. Probablity says reality is somewhere in the middle. So you're already 50% wrong. Are you even a Saints fan? you distance yourself in your post as if you're a fan of another team.

Just sayin... Looks like your worst case scenario is coming to fruition.

not gonna lie. i havent seen much of camp or read about many of the newer players. so i hope i'm wrong. i watched the preseason games. had up and downs like normal. theres a reason about 1/3 of the team is cut for cut date, most arent NFL players.

but me coming into it, i see an aging cam jordan, davis, mathieu. lattimore has been hurt most of the last 2 years and was already hurt in camp. thats over 1/3 of the defense. and major starters when healthy.

offensively. i see 40% of the oline needing an upgrade, no WR after olave/shaheed. TE's are suspect, carr wont have time to throw, AK is aging, and no one after him.

i can see why majority of saints fan are seeing aa 6-11 season. i told my buddy the other day 7-10.

i hope i'm wrong and all of these new coaches work wonders and saints at least make a wildcard game. maybe pull an upset and beat a higher seed. sundays are just better when the saints win. even though this first half of the schedule appears absolutely brutal on paper.
About to prove my “no WR after shaheed and Olave.” Theory out tomorrow night. Defense is old. TE suspect

Come to find out u don’t need a crystal ball tonpredict things

At this point id be surprised if they’re 6-11

What? You were totally wrong. You said the team basically sucked at all positions including the coach. You didn’t mention injuries killing the team, besides at Cb, (which aren’t injured). After two game this team looked like a Super Bowl team. Then we lost everyone to injury and now they have to endure another 3-4 losses before we can field a decent team. The next game will be like preseason games to us, and real games to the opponent. Unless Rattler proves that he can be like Brees and punish blitzing teams. I think Rattler can learn this. But it’s going to take some great coaching and reps.

If you follow the team really closely and see the product on the field, then all you need is common sense to figure these things out.

That’s why I don’t understand how there are people here on this forum that clearly follow this team closely and see the product on the field yet expect different results. It’s really a testament to how rose colored glasses can blind someone from seeing the truth.

Many of us realized that position was super thin. Turns out we’re super thin all over lol.

Agreed. I’m convinced some of them work for the team. Only thing that makes sense to me. Loomis probably posts here too. 😂

Whomever they are it’s certainly their prerogative to fan and feel how they choose to.

I remember being pissed after the draft that Saints didnt draft an offensive weapon. RB, TE, WR something. I said its not if Olave will get injured but when. He is fragile like glass, Shaheed looks to be traveling down the same rd.

Now for a good stretch the team will have street guys, rookie qb and Kamara. The Saints are in worst spot possible that a team can be in.

Basically to beat the Saints all you have to do is not turn the ball over and dont screw up on defense
