This team is so solid overall Trevor could manage them along with taysom...with winstom As the highest possible ceiling to push them over with his next level abilities.

Nick Foles has failed the elite test in this league so He's just a journeyman in my opinion.

He brings nothing to the equation other than his flash in the pan season he had

I honestly think if the Saints make a move for a vet QB (which could go either way).. Foles makes the most sense.

Sadly there’s a reason why Foles, in all his SB glory in Philly can’t stay on a roster the past several seasons. He’s mediocre aside from him impressive runs off the bench in 2017 and 18.

However, for the right price - I’d love to see what he could do in this system.

In all seriousness, I don't think they spend the money.

I'm not sure of the exact numbers but I know our cap situation next year is going to make for another year of difficult cuts. It's telling that we haven't traded for a mid-to-high tier WR or TE with all of the struggles at those position groups to date.

We're going to need to do the party this year on a budget I'm afraid.

Because he won't come free...and it'll cost something we need for something that isn't really all that better than what we have. Good enough?

Edit...and this isn't a system where you can just come in on a Monday and be ready to go in 6 days...this is a system where you need at least a full offseason to work into. Roll with what we got.

Not exactly… I wouldn’t expect him (or anyone else to come in and start right away. But having Foles or another proven vet backup learning the system and getting ready to contribute (if needed) in a few weeks is realistic.

I don’t know Foles cap number for 2021, but salary cap has never stopped the Saints from doing what they want or need to do. Foles is likely around $4M this season.

If SP can beat the Bucs with Trevor Siemian then he can win in the playoffs with Foles, I wouldn’t be against it at all.

SP couldn’t win in the playoffs with Drew Brees at the end of his career lol. It’s a different beast come playoff time and Foles is proven in the playoffs.

We may stay with what we have, but at least they have a chance to really examine what’s available during the next 48 hours. Should be interesting - but either way, professional football is a violent game and the champs are usually the teams that manage their injuries they best.

The point is… if the Saints believe they have the roster to win a ring… and they’re not completely happy with what they have currently at QB… they at least have the option to still make a trade for a QB.
