The injury sucks but at least it was before the trade deadline.

I honestly think if the Saints make a move for a vet QB (which could go either way).. Foles makes the most sense. The injury sucks but at least it was before the trade deadline.
People should read the first half of your post. He was lightning in a bottle. That's all.Sadly there’s a reason why Foles, in all his SB glory in Philly can’t stay on a roster the past several seasons. He’s mediocre aside from him impressive runs off the bench in 2017 and 18.
However, for the right price - I’d love to see what he could do in this system.
Care to elaborate on that? Why not?NO!!!
Because he won't come free...and it'll cost something we need for something that isn't really all that better than what we have. Good enough?Care to elaborate on that? Why not?
Not exactly… I wouldn’t expect him (or anyone else to come in and start right away. But having Foles or another proven vet backup learning the system and getting ready to contribute (if needed) in a few weeks is realistic.Because he won't come free...and it'll cost something we need for something that isn't really all that better than what we have. Good enough?
Edit...and this isn't a system where you can just come in on a Monday and be ready to go in 6 days...this is a system where you need at least a full offseason to work into. Roll with what we got.
SP couldn’t win in the playoffs with Drew Brees at the end of his career lol. It’s a different beast come playoff time and Foles is proven in the playoffs. If SP can beat the Bucs with Trevor Siemian then he can win in the playoffs with Foles, I wouldn’t be against it at all.
This. 1000% this! The injury sucks but at least it was before the trade deadline.
The point is… if the Saints believe they have the roster to win a ring… and they’re not completely happy with what they have currently at QB… they at least have the option to still make a trade for a QB.This. 1000% this!
We may stay with what we have, but at least they have a chance to really examine what’s available during the next 48 hours. Should be interesting - but either way, professional football is a violent game and the champs are usually the teams that manage their injuries they best.
ok, entirely stupid question here, but would talking to the Lions about Goff be at all interesting? I mean the guy has talent. I know it is not realistic but this team with this defense could be superbowl material. Get MT back in the game...
