Saints Nick Foles? (4 Viewers)

Call me crazy but I think we got our own Nick Foles in Trevor Siemian. There was allot of good things I saw from him and dare I say it better than Taysom Hill. I think we should continue rolling with him but definitely wouldn’t mind bringing in Nick Foles to be a backup.

Given our cap situation next season we need our draft picks (cheap young players). Unless it’s a 6th or 7th I can’t see giving up anything higher for Foles. We need at least 2 WR’s in next years draft, a RB, and TE.

How similar was the offense Foles ran in Philly to the CSP-led offense for the Saints?

Not wildly different concept-wise -- Sean Payton, former Eagles HC Doug Pederson and former Eagles OC Frank Reich all coach offenses based on Bill Walsh's West Coast concepts. Pederson and Reich both came up under Andy Reid while Payton came up under John Gruden, so their offenses aren't 100% matches, especially with terminology.

Foles is a locker room cancer. Trust me on this.
You mean the guy who’s graciously accepted getting benched for the young buck over and over and over again…without a peep of a rumor that he’s salty over it? That guy?!?

Not exactly… I wouldn’t expect him (or anyone else to come in and start right away. But having Foles or another proven vet backup learning the system and getting ready to contribute (if needed) in a few weeks is realistic.

I don’t know Foles cap number for 2021, but salary cap has never stopped the Saints from doing what they want or need to do. Foles is likely around $4M this season.
Unless the Bears wanted to eat much of his contract (to almost league minimum left), it could be cap-prohibitive.

Based on? No, I'm not trusting a word of this when it's the first I've heard of it.
Fair enough, no complaints from me. But I do not give bad info and I have a pretty reputable track record. There are members of the Bears organization who want him suspended for conduct detrimental to the team.

Yes, this guy. There is a HUGE difference between what someone says publicly and does behind closed doors. This season, Foles has been a cancer to the Bears going as far as to urge Andy Dalton not to assist/mentor Justin Fields. There are members of the coaching staff who want him gone. He has a "no trade" clause but Nagy--who for the record acknowledges that Foles has been a malcontent this season--has not acted. He (Nagy) says he wishes he could do something but has not and certainly getting sidelined with COVID-19 probably delayed in potential action he could take.

But you are welcome to take this all with a grain of salt. Again, I am pretty plugged but that does not mean you are compelled to take my word on anything I say.

Sources? I mean, if you're going to make the claims, you'll need to say where you're getting your information from or your comments aren't worth a hill of beans.

In all seriousness, I don't think they spend the money.

I'm not sure of the exact numbers but I know our cap situation next year is going to make for another year of difficult cuts. It's telling that we haven't traded for a mid-to-high tier WR or TE with all of the struggles at those position groups to date.

We're going to need to do the party this year on a budget I'm afraid.
Probably the reality -it’s not an option
