Nick Underhill thinks Carr will be Saints starter [mod edit: Moore-Carr meeting went well; Saints plan is to keep Carr in 2025 & figure out contract] (306 Viewers)

I don't know if all this is performative theatrics from the organization to keep a facade of a well run organization.

There is just no way that you can think you can compete with this mess of a roster.

So, I'll will need to see moves that actually back up this delusion of competing.

If this is what Kellen wants, I'm 100% on board.
If this is Loomis...

Oof... I would like not to have to wait till I'm 40 years old for another playoff berth.

Looks like they are going to do what was always likely. They will wait for the natural reset on the old guys when their contracts are up next year along with Carr. I'd rather have done it this year, but that was never very likely.

QB class looks really good next draft... Ugh. Fine.

Ha, some of us went from birth to adolescence for a single playoff appearance and then nearly to our 30s to actually WIN a playoff game.
Hey now... Let's not put that evil on us. We survived the longest drought once lol..

If he does stay, maybe he’ll get hurt sooner than he normally does so they can put rattler or another QB in when the oline is still intact for the rest of the season. Not that I’m rooting for it, but he’s a hurt machine at this point in his career with a built in excuse for everything.

Clown away!

Also, corporate sponsors don't want to pay top dollar for half empty Superdome.

That's one of the big problems with a true reset or tank. In addition to the fact that it takes some teams 30 years to recover from a tank, although the fans say they will support a reset or tank, and they will with their words, they aren't going to back it up with their money in the form of ticket sales or concession sales.

If you are going to reset, and I think we need to, it has to be done over a time frame that allows you to at least stay competitive.

That being said, I hope Mickey doesn't do any dumb things that hurt he cap for long term. If he signs any relatively big deals, they better be young players that we can build around for the future, not old guys for a shot to win now. i.e. don't give Davante Adams a big contract.

It won't be the latter. We have an issue at Safety and we need to resign Paulson and Juwan. I think something to monitor is the T position. I know everyone is high on the year Penning had, and I think he improved...the proof was in the pudding. However, The TE position didn't come alive until Rattler came in and that seemed to coincide w/ his ability to move/create. When Carr was in the team was much more concerned w/ helping Penning.

If the Saints made a move a T and allowed Juwan to walk but drafted the TE from Penn State I think it would help the team overall vs just assuming Penning is the starting RT. Doesn't matter if it's a RT or a LT that allows Fuaga to move back to RT.
