NOF: Saints in position to get under the cap with ease and create another $30+ million in cap space to add new players (1 Viewer)

Elvis was responding to being called a know it all... and then when he responded he was questioned as to what would compel him to even respond. That is called GAS LIGHTING.
You both are misreading what I said.it was a general comment about the discussion. I even pointed out his assertions weren't necessarily wrong. The approach can work either way if you do other things well. No need to get bent out of shape over a discussion.

Regardless, the discussion with Elvis was fine. We disagree on this. No big deal.

Did you not read my very next post? Because why say this when i addressed it already?
It would be easier to avoid the confusion of you referring to me as a know it all and then somehow attempting to walk it back in the very next post if you just combined you replies. As you acknowledged, the cap is complicated and it requires some knowledge. I do not know it all, but I am trying to have a reasonable conversation and it seems that you take any criticism of the way the team currently manages things as a personal insult. It's weird.

Forget the know it all part. I shouldn't have said that because it's taking away from my point.

I'm not taking it as a personal insult. I'm saying that both strategies are valid, and each has it's advantages and disadvantages.

I would have combined my posts but the original had been up a few minutes before I added the next post. Happens when I'm doing other things at the same time sometimes.

Cap conversations go nowhere here, this board will criticize the frames that PC chose for his glasses but will refuse to accept even the slightest critique of our cap strategy.

That's just not true.

And instead of being so defensive and sensitive about criticism, maybe just ask and answer questions respectfully rather than complaining about the discourse. Sure, some of us, meaning either side, have really strong opinions on the subject. Maybe acknowledging that none of us are in the room with Loomis and can see what he sees. What he's doing may or may not work, but I think had good reasons for doing what he did. I know he's said they want to try to tweak the strategy to trend back the other way, but that's going to take years to unwind.

I didn’t have an issue with it. I see why it works. But with Payton and Brees both gone, it makes continuing to use future dollars to pay players less effective.

That said, drafting better, and better yet, not trading up every year, would fix a lot of the issues with the cap situation. And ultimately what we all want is for the Saints to get back to winning consistently. Easier said than done.

Slightest critique? Seriously? That's what you call what has been said about how the Saints handle the cap. I'd hate to see what you think counts as a saying everything they do is wrong and the franchise is headed for doom.
