Note: To all of you Bush Haters... (1 Viewer)

Depends on how you look at it Bush has had a grand total of 1550 yards on the ground in 3 seasons. Thomas had 1788.

Thomas missed 8 games Bush has missed 10 games

We can look at catches if you want but Ken O'brian is not Drew!

I guess you still fail with this weak crap!

So his numbers are NOT better than a BUST!

So it takes a great QB to throw 2-yard passes? :jpshakehead:

Bush isn't a bust, plain and simple. Anyone who thinks he is doesn't know the meaning of the word.

No one in nfl history got to 200 catches faster than reggie bush. So he doesn't suck. Sunday, reggie got 7 carries, mike got 28. Most players who drop the ball 3 times in a game get fewer carries that game. Also the game was in hand and there's no reason to put your best athlete in danger. Still, no one on the team got more receptions. This is my first post and all, but why would you boo your best athlete? Is he not a nice enough guy? May you never be allowed to clap for a player you once boo'ed. I wish I was important enough for the guy sitting next to you to agree with me.

Football 101 without a great QB the D stack the line with 8 in the box! With Drew how many times does metcalf opps i mean Bush see 8 in the box? like almost never and he still can't run the ball better than a BUST! Thomas I am sure saw plenty of 8 man fronts with the future hall of fame Ken O'Brian!

Thank god he can return and catch or he would be one of the worst picks of all time!

Bush.........

I agree with most of you from both sides of the fence. Bush will not become the elite back "WE" all were hoping for when we drafted him. I don't even feel he will reach B. Westbrrok status in his career.

Bush will be a decent RB with outstanding pass-catching ability. He will make people miss in the open field, but will never be a traditional RB.

As long as we have Bush on this team, we will need a "REAL" running back in that backfield with him. Which is what a slew of teams are doing now anyway.

Its just a shame that Bush is being paid to be elite, and is performing average at best, and will not ever reach elite status. By elite, I mean Marshall Faulk, BArry Sanders, Walter Payton, Earl Campbell, Emmitt Smith, Eric Dickerson, Tony Dorsette or Marcus Allen. So, in that frame of mind, he is not even close to being elite.

His career will be injury riddled, likely each and every year. While he will win games for us and will lose a few also, I will venture to say his impact will be more positive than negative.

This my friends is money not very well spent. But, whats done is done, we just have to live with it. We have all overspent before and survived, so will the Saints.

And before one of you clowns start passing judgement on me for my opinion. I am a diehard as the next, so don't even go there with the fairweather cr@p.

For the record, I am a season ticket holder of 14 years, I don't think I can count on my two hands how many home games I have missed, including when we were homeless. I travel to TB, ATL, almost every year and every now and then we go to Charlotte.

And as far as people booing, I have done it, and recently. Its all part of the game. If I were the only person booing when RB fumbled last game, I must be the loudest booer in the world, because it echoed in the Lodge section.

Good post and pretty much my thoughts exactly.

I actually agree with most of what you're saying here. It's true that Bush hasn't been the type of elite back that engraves their name on the history of the game. He has the potential, but he's never realized it. However, he's still a good player for us, and contributes immensely to our offense.

It's not Reggie's fault that he was drafted where he was, or that he is paid top pick money. If he continues to be mediocre and then demands "elite" money when it's time for his next contract, then people may have a point. Until then, they're hating on him for something that isn't really his fault, and it's dumb.

I dont know. that may be true now, but it wasnt 2 and a half years ago. I went to 2 home games in 2007 and heard Brees get booed for throwing 4 INTs against the Titans. Also heard a few boos later in the year when we played the eagles and he didn't even play that bad. 27 of 42 for 284 yards 0 TDs 1 INT.

That was my fault. I had him in fantasy football during that bizarre INT streak he had. I traded him away to save my real team. Sure enough, the week I traded him he snapped out of it. That was the one and only time I have ever had Brees on my fantasy team.

I agree and almost didn't read post because I am so tired of people bashing bush for having a bad game after recovering off season surgery and playing very little in preseason. He has a passion for the game and is probably worse on his self than the fans are. He has had explosive games and plays. I am supporting Bush and am not about to bash him. Reggie shut them up and just play with the God given talent that you have. I cheer for you win you score and am not booing you when you mess up. The Eagles need a whole bunch of Reggie Bush this Sunday and all those people that want you to fail so bad will jump back on the bandwagon, but as for me I never got off. Run Reggie Run and Geaux Saints!!!

You are very much correct, Reggie took advantage of the situation, and profited big time. Like any of us would do if our career choice was in a field where our average tenure time is less that 7 years & where we risked severe injury on a daily basis.

I do see a contract restructuring coming for Bush if he does not have a highly productive season & is healthy (which I doubt) by season's end.

Well said. I think that Bush will actually get better once he realizes he is not going to set the NFL on fire. Unfortunately I think he will be with another team by the time he realizes that.

I agree, I still think this is the season he realizes his position within the organization and settles down. He is no longer the best player on the field, in the conference, in the league. In college, there are a few outstanding prospects on most teams. In the NFL, they are all "elite" athletes, the best of the best.

Every now and then you have a Jerry Rice, T.O., Randy Moss show up out of the college ranks. But in a nutshell, they are all amazing athletes, with some being a little better than others.

I just hope Reggie gets to B. Westbrook / W. Dunn status. Then the money would be well spent because of the consistent weekly performance & can have a successful NFL career.
