Saints Now that Jameis is back on a 2 year deal… Malik Willis is the play! (2 Viewers)

I like Willis but it’s highly unrealistic with Carolina, Seattle and Atlanta picking in the top 10. We’d have to trade the house to get in range which is too big a risk for such a boom or bust project. Pickett is a no as well because he isn’t sitting for a year. That leaves Corral, Strong, Ridder. My prediction is we trade up in the 2nd round and pick Desmond Ridder.

Draft a receiver this year, all in for Bryce Young next year.

Bryce Young is likely going to go in the top 10 at worst next year. We won't be close to that spot unless we don't sign WRs and we get rid of half of our defense. We will likely be picking lower than #18 if we fill a few holes.

Draft a wide receiver.

The saints have shown a willingness this year to trade multiple high picks. I’d rather do that than draft any QB this year

Draft mulriple wrs. Stop ignoring the position we ultimately suck at.
The only position that would trump a round 1 wr is a starting LT to replace armstead.

Bernard Raimann, Left Tackle...

"He earned the second-highest grade of any offensive lineman this season and allowed only 10 pressures."

I think he's going to struggle after coming from 'Liberty". Last year his only big game was vs Ole Miss and he had 3 pics. His overall, average passing yards per game is low. He also had 3 pics vs LA Monroe and 3 vs Middle Tenn. What's with all the pics? He won't be seeing the field in the NFL if he can't fix that. Maybe it's just me but playing at a small college with light competition, I think he should have produced better numbers.

They were willing to trade multiple first round picks for an established top 5 QB.

They don't have to draft a QB this year or next with Winston on a 2 year deal. But, they can draft one if one they like falls to them this year or next year. I do think that they would be willing to trade up for a QB they like, but they now aren't forced to do it. But, trading into the top 10 or possibly into the top 5 is very expensive and even more expensive if we are picking later in round 1. And, it's possible no team will be willing to give up the chance to draft Young.

That is, unless Young has a bad year and falls down the boards.

Willis has the most upside of any of the QBs in this class, but it is largely believed he will need a couple years of seasoning before he’s ready…
Well… Jameis Winston can take the wheel for the next couple of years. If Jameis thrives and realizes him immense potential, then Willis becomes a big trade piece. If not, Willis takes over after learning the pro game and the offense. Listening to the pre-draft interviews with Malik Willis, I love the makeup of this kid. He’s humble, but confident… and he feels like a leader.
If Malik as good as everyone claims he will be gonr by pick 18

I'm not necessarily opposed to that, if it happens, it happens. I definitely wouldn't be mad, but I think there are other holes to fill, specifically WR, and OL. Pick 18 could be better spent helping the roster compete now rather then 2 years from now.

This is still a really talented roster, and the NFC is shaking up to be pretty weak all things considering.

With the experience a lot of these guys have in the postseason, you never know what can happen.

Just look at the 49er's last year. That could have and should have been us. If not for a second half implosion by the defending Superbowl champions.

With all that being said, we need to sign Armstead back, even if it is for only 8-12 games. I originally wanted Collins, but it is what it is. He signed with the Bengals. I don't blame em

Carolina will draft a QB, but it will probably be Pickett.

I still just don't understand the hype around Malik Willis.

This class sucks. In a different year there would be better players for the media to talk about. He's at the top of a small hill. He's going to get drafted (Corral too) in the first round for no reason other than being in the right place at the right time.
