He’s had a rough first year for certain. Can he play in the NFL the jury is still out, but I think we know he is not going to be a viable starter. A young qb must be a priority next season.
We won’t know if he will be a viable starter until we’ve seen him behind a true #1 offense.

He had an offseason to showcase his talent and was designated third string, behind the great Jake Haener. He has started numerous games and you can see his accuracy and decision making is off. He should have about as many picks as completions if defenders could catch. If given time he may develop, but he is worlds away from being an NFL starter. Let him spend a couple years on the practice squad to learn the game. In the meantime go out and get a young gun with more potential in case he never develops.

I’m going to come right out and ask. When have you seen the guy behind a real # 1 Saints offense with all of its weapons on hand? None of us have. So how can you say that with DA as HC and his pick of Carr at #1 and Heaner at #2? I don’t think the guy has really had a fair offseason behind a healthy #1 offense. I f he played the way he has behind the kind of offense I just described, then I would agree with you.

Regardless if he wasn’t on the Saints roster none of us would even think he should be playing in the NFL. We have an opportunity to bring in other young talent. I say give the man a chance to compete next season and if he makes the team as a practice squad player he may develop, he has the arm to be a solid backup one day.

And you got your knowledge of what he’s about from what evaluations? Were you at all Saints practices? What meaningful games has he played in begin a #1 offensive that was at full strength? None.

He was third string on the Saints roster of great qbs, that should tell us something

“Great QBs””!!! Ha. And 3rd string with DA as HC. Says a lot.
Right. I wouldn’t say they are great at evaluating qb talent. Hopefully they can accidentally find a young qb for next season. Maybe Kubiak can contribute to choosing the next qb.

I still say the coaches, whoever they may be, should give Rattler a chance to compete.

I agree, everyone should have a chance to compete, hopefully they draft a good young qb and let him compete with Rattler. If Rattler beats him out either Rattler has gotten a lot better or we made another boneheaded pick.
