Official game day thread: Raiders @ Saints 12/29/24 (11 Viewers)

He’s had a rough first year for certain. Can he play in the NFL the jury is still out, but I think we know he is not going to be a viable starter. A young qb must be a priority next season.
There are not good young QB's coming out next year and we are drafting 10th. I don't know who is coming out in 2026 but you don't really have a choice but to wait. It's going to be a long rebuilding process. People who think we are 3 years out are sadly mistaken.

Long way to go for this organization can't compete in a horrible division and definitely not competing with the rest of the NFC or league right now.

Detroit hasn’t really had a great defense under him, just complimentary to their offense, that’s my main reason.

I also just don’t care to have another HC that will keep this same thing, if we’re going that route to hire outside of the building then being in a whole new culture with no ties to this team at all, if we want to keep what we have going for some unknown godly reason, then hire Rizzi.
Why would Aaron Glenn "do the same thing"?

People always say no one is good coming out but no one can be 100% sure what anyone will do once they get to the NFL. Purdy I'm sure shocked a lot of people. Sam Dornold this year as well.

People forget that Carr is in the top third of the league in 2024 in QBR and RTG. He ain’t Brees but you can build a team around him in the short term.

I hate to say this, but what Saints QB draft pick has been better in our lifetime? I mean at least we drafted a good backup.

That’s a low bar because we haven’t drafted any in the first three rounds. That’s not even trying. Especially these days where only a handful of QBs drafted outside of the first round are starters and most of those were drafted a decade or more ago. Purdy is really the only recent one and I don’t think he’s great personally. The odds are Rattler isn’t going to be anything more than a backup if he’s lucky.

But to answer the question the best has been 2000 6th round pick Mark Bulger. He never got a real shot with us since we had Blake, Brooks and Delhomme in camp. Good starter for the Rams though.

Good scouts will find some diamonds in the rough. There will be more than one good starting NFL qb from this draft.
