You're kidding, right? Throwing it out of bounds is pretty much the only option with zero timeouts there. You want to know how bad it would be if we're throwing in the middle of the field and getting tackled as time expired?

Anyone who has ever played football will tell you if it hits your hands you're supposed to catch that.

That does not negate that it was a poorly thrown ball.

I put this game squarely on Jonathan Patrick's shoulders. He's been terrible and pathetic out there costing the Saints huge plays. If I could, I'd bench him for the second half.

If your running routes in the NFL you are qualified to catch a pass that hits you directly in your hands.

If he can't catch a harder throw he shouldn't be running routes
