I loved Rusev as a heel, then loved the Rusev day run. I would like to have him back in the E. I think he would be a credible opponent for any champ.

Yeah. Vince totally ruined the character with that stupid gimmick between he, Bobby Lashley, and Lana.

We are really slacking her...

They strap the belt on Jey Uso and where are we. WHERE ARE WE?!?!

Sorry, busy week for me. Though I am surprised they pulled the trigger on Jey. I'm not a fan of the "Yeet" thing, but I am impressed how Jey has elevated his stature. He has done a good job since the beginning of OG bloodline story. Happy for him.

This isn't the end of the world, but I was hoping for Bronson vs Braun at Bad Blood. I have been enjoying the meat feast. Also Dom had me crying when he said he couldn't go back, when they referenced the cage.

I'm not a fan of the "Yeet" thing,

Someone else may have to fill in the gaps for me (or completely correct me if I'm wrong on this).....

But didn't "Yeet" originate when Sami was initially trying to fit in with The Bloodline on Smackdown, while coming off extremely awkward by attempting to use cool lingo? I'm remembering Sami blurting out "Yeet!!" during a Bloodline segment.....so I'm gonna guess Jey, while still a heel, previously used that term at some point?

If so, there is at least some storyline continuity aspect to it....instead of just some word they randomly told him to use after turning babyface, all because it was popular among 12 year old boys in like 2019....

This is what I don't like about it. Obviously it's over, but it would be like someone using "cowabunga" in late 99. Just a wildly out of date slang term that sticks out because of how dated it is.

But he's over so what the hell do I know.

I thought it was a Samoan/Pacific Islands thing because when they had that copyright mini-crisis, the individual claiming the copyright was an Islander as well IIRC.

I just caught up on Raw. I really didn't think they would let Jey win. I thought the whole point was to keep putting Breaker over, but maybe they're going to let Breaker go after one of the other belts. Or, this could be more about Uso and the belt's going to have a role in the Bloodline storyline.

I first heard the existence of the term "Yeet" sometime before Covid as being a thing that boys in Jr. High were saying, which is why I threw out "2019" as a blanket year. Truth be told, it may very well have been 2016 or 2017 when I first heard it.....but it's certainly possible that it blew up much more in popularity later on.

This isn't really related, since the story I'm about to tell actually involved modern lingo at the time....but there's a specific Sting memory I have from my childhood that I've never forgotten. This would have mostly likely been at some point in 1988 (likely that summer or later in the year) based on research I've done.......and would have likely been in Sting's early NWA days, since both Mid South and UWF were done by '87.

Sting would come out and cut a promo......and near the end, he would do his HOWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, then go ....LA BAMBA !!!!!!!!!!!!! (which was all over the radio at that time).........then another HOWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, followed by "Don't Worry, Be Happy !!!!! (also all over the radio at that time). I just wonder if he came up with that himself, or if someone backstage was all like "hey, scream out these 2 chart-topping song titles at the end of your promos, everyone will pop!!"

As a child, one doesn't tend to care about remembering things in sequential / logical order......but in my child mind, it felt like he was doing that every Saturday for multiple weeks.
