Officiating at the End of Game (1 Viewer)

Was it my critical eye or did the refs miss many blatant holding plays today? Certainly seemed to be called only one way. It's almost uncanny.

I just watched the replay and I assume the refs thought Landry went out of bounds and that's why the clock was stopped. This wasn't explained by the TV crew.

If you have not watched Untold: Operation Flagrant Foul on Netflix I urge everyone to watch it. The point is not so much the gambling it points out how much the NBA has over how games are officiated. Who gets called for certain fouls and more important who does not. It also talks about how NBA refs take matters into their own hands. And how Stern basically squashed an FBI investigation by leaking the story.
My point is with the $ the NBA takes in and they control the game that much how much more with the $ the NFL takes in do they control the outcomes of games?
Today's game was SO one-sided in favor of the Clowns and so many mistakes and things that should have been done it looked quite obvious that something was going on. Especially the decision not to look at the clear and obvious fumble that led to the Clowns FG at the end of the half.
Yes we played like utter crap for most of the game, out coached and out played. But if that kind of stuff goes on in the NBA you KNOW it goes on in the NFL with twice the amount of $$$ involved
This. The NFL either needs to come out and state that their business is akin to entertainment wrestling or welcome an independent investigation. Unfortunately, neither are likely to happen.

Did you notice the ref was smiling when he announced the intentional grounding?
Did you know the ref was an ex-49er and this was his first game as a ref? Maybe he was enjoying himself a little too much?

I look forward to the Netflix special highlighting the failed attempt of these refs who did everything they could to swing that game to the Falcons.
The holding call on Lattimore was trash, but the most egregious non-call was the false start on the second to last play of the game. The entire left side of Atlanta's offensive line moved early and yet, no flag was thrown.

Also, has the rule changed? Does a qb no longer need to be under duress for it to be grounding? How can an immediate spike be under duress?
QB must be spiking the ball in order to stop the clock. Because the clock was not running, it's grounding. Good call.

Wouldn’t this be a call in our favor though? Unless it was an elaborate trap to get us to spike the ball and get a penalty.
I thought Jarvis was touched down in bounds too. Sideline referee disagreed and concluded that clock stopped when Jarvis ran out of bounds.

I caught that too. Kemp was obviously well aware of the rule and was waiting to show off. Credit him for knowing the rule and correctly applying it to the game situation.

Nope, not in the rules book. Nowhere does it say the clock has to be running prior to the ball being snapped or that it is a penalty for doing so.

It 100% does. Go look up Jeff Asher's tweet where he quoted the rule. The rule 100% states that the QB must do it to stop the clock.
