NFL Draft Ohio State QB Will Howard (12 Viewers)

How do you feel about Howard after last night?

As a Buckeye, I love the guy, but still feel the same: he's a late round, developmental pick that probably ends up being a quality backup. He does have the tools to be more than that, so the right system/coach fit could unlock a hidden gem, but he has a ways to go to be an NFL starter.

Agree with this.

He played well. He also didn’t have to do much more than basic college QB stuff during this run.

When asked to go above and beyond in previous games, he left a lot to be desired.

Looked accurate to me during the CFP. Guess we will see what his Combine and Pro Day look like

He missed a wide open receiver for what would have been an easy TD to seal the game long before if got close. He's a good college QB, but he has a long way to go to be an NFL QB.

Superior talent at WR in CFB makes QBing look real easy. In the NFL, you can't underthrow a deep ball and expect the WR to slow up and still make an uncontested catch.

His offense has a lot of motion. His OC was an NFL head coach for a minute, so I think it’s safe to say he’s prepared for the transition

Does not have the accuracy required
His accuracy and touch are fairly solid. His processing speed and ability to make off-schedule throws/plays are hit & miss at the college level, and in the NFL, those qualities are even more critical to be a quality starter. I think the NFL game would be too fast for him initially, but with the right coaching, he'd have a chance with some experience.

I heard a radio host yesterday characterize Howard as "good, but not great." I think I'd use that description on just about every QB eligible for the draft this next time. They're all good, but definitely not upper-round good.

And he's not a QB, but wherever Cam Skattebo goes, whether in the draft or not, he'll be a fan favorite. He came close to singlehandedly beating Texas. ASU had no other weapons besides him, unfortunately.
Bruh! Skattebo would be on my team if I was coaching the Saints, I don't care where I have to draft him. Imagine him in the Taysom Hill role. He can throw, catch, block, and obviously run. Plus, he would be a super star in New Orleans.

Did not think any of these QB's were good in the playoff's. If LSU made it, Nuss would have been by far the best QB in the playoffs, even with his flaws.

Good for him, but in my opinion, he doesn’t have NFL-required accuracy on his throws and his deep ball is pedestrian.
You did notice the 81% Completion Accuracy for the game?

Those are outstanding numbers & they make him an excellent QB candidate for the NFL.
