Ok I’ll probably get trashed for this but…. (44 Viewers)

The Saints really need to rebuild from the ground up. Of course we need a new coach and a new QB. I would go with a coach first and work on both lines. Then a QB and a WR or two. Make this a 3 or 4 year plan to build a solid team. It can be done but not with Loomis.
It doesn’t do us any good to get a qb if we can’t keep him up right! Shore up OL and D

Yeah, it’s safe to say that if anyone has a different opinion or thought from some of the more frequent posters then they’re more likely to get bashed “clowned”.

I guess if you believe that you have 30K posts that means you’re the authority on all things Saints on SR. Normally I sit back and watch but those of you that are counting “fire ML posts” are getting ridiculous. Just have SR merge them. Maybe the OP has a full time job and doesn’t live on SR 80 hours a week like some of you to notice that someone already started a similar thread geez.

For the love of all things human though could everyone just please chill with the constant “no I’m right, you’re wrong”, “no you don’t have factual evidence it’s just your opinion”. It’s a fan forum, people are going to have various and different opinions and views and that should be allowed without being read the riot act, even if you know or feel in your heart of hearts that their wrong. So freaking what, just move on to a different thread, no need for the peanut gallery to way in on EVERY single post that annoys someone.

It’s as if some of the members here scan each new post waiting to attack or ridicule a poster the second they post something that’s either been said already or that some, not all on SR disagrees with.
🤣

Ironic. That against which you are so vehemently arguing is precisely what you are doing yourself. Pot meet kettle.

Yeah but restructuring just means pushing it down the road. and if you cut them next yr there's a dead cap hit making the cap situation just as bad or worse. And if you cut them you need to replace them with $ you don't have

And create more dead $$$ . Paying for players that are not here AND having to replace them with no $$$
Once again, you do realize we have to get cap compliant right? We are 51 million OVER the 2025 cap. Restructures are the only way it’s happening. Current we are projected to have around 70ish million in cap space in 2026, take out Carr’s cap hit except for the 28 million in dead money from his June 1 cut this year and that puts us around 100 million in cap space. So even if you cut say Demario, Tyrann and Cam and take those cap hits in 2026, you still have around 70 million in cap space to play with.

That is the ONLY way this roster is getting reset/rebuilt, there is no other way to do it

Take the time to actually “read” my post please instead of just reacting. In what way am I “ridiculing” or “attacking” or even “disagreeing” with anyone’s viewpoint or particular post especially this OPs post. I’m merely making a statement. You do realize the difference right?

Disagree. You were complaining about others expressing their opinions, yet accusing other members of supposedly attacking you and others for expressing yours. Sorry. You can't have it both ways.

Everyone has a right to their own opinions. Even those with whom we may not agree. It's called free speech. If you don't agree or whatever, you're welcome to disagree. But don't say that you have a right to your opinions but others somehow don't have any right to theirs. To be clear, I don't condone personal attacks on folks just because they're expressing their opinions. There's a proper way to discuss matters without resorting to ridiculing or accusing people of attacking you or others. It helps to cite real examples of your claims instead of issuing a general and broad-sweeping accusation.

In any case, I have spoken my piece so I will exit the discussion with you. Have a good day.

No I was pointing out how ridiculous it was that people are so quick to attack or ridicule someone that has a different/unpopular opinion or someone that starts a thread about something that was previously talked about. I was complaining lol. That’s called an observation then a comment. It’s not a “broad sweeping” accusation. If the shoe doesn’t fit…..

You have a good day as well.

Since when is reeeling in Moore considered an incredible accomplishment?

Loomis is the same guy that hired DA, then didn't fire him when he should have. He didn't fire PC when he should have,

He's also the guy who brought in Carr and put us in cap hell. He's also responsible for our poor drafting.

Loomis has more than enough fault on his shoulders.
Yes, his mistake was promoting DA to HC. We can all agree with that.

But again, please try to understand that ML does not make decisions on drafts, FAs, and assistant coaches. All of that is under the HC in the Saints organization.

Loomis goes out and gets the players, makes deals to move up in the draft to land a player the HC targets, etc.

I'm not sure why a lot of posters here still don't understand that. Again, ML biggest mistake was promoting DA in the 1st place. It ends there.

If we could allow ourselves to be optimistic. Let's say we get a really good LG in the draft, and our OT keep improving. And we develop a strong running game. And on defense we improve our sack totals, and become strong in the run game again. How far away are we ?

Haha. I’m as optimistic as anyone but your post basically says “What if we become good at playing football again, then how far away are we?” 😂

It is YOU who doesn't understand. It is that way because Loomis himself makes it that way. He IS the boss of the football side of the Saints organization. There is no authority higher than him on the football side. He himself has delegated that responsibility to other people but he didn't have to do that. He could make all those draft, FA and assistant coaching decisions himself or give them to Jeff Ireland or Khai Harley if he so chooses. I don't get why people give the boss a pass because he delegated to the wrong people.

I don't knwo that it's giving him a pass more so than providing context. If Loomis was making all the decisions and taking final say you'd absolutely dump those failed issues all on him, but if it's a collaborative effort then it means it's a shared responsibility. Meaning they share when things are right, and they share when things go wrong.

DA takes part of the blame if those are the guys he chose. You can't force people to blame one person in a two people effort lol. It's like you're confusing people taking that into context w/ them absolving Loomis of ALL responsibility.

I don't think anyone on this board thinks Mickey's hands are clean in any way, were just acknowledging he had accomplices in making the mess. Payton was absolutely behind some of the "one player away" mantra and kicking of the can. DA was absolutely behind two of the worst QB searches in Saints history.

Mickey supported them and in the case of Payton his support ultimately lead to a lot of wins, robbing Peter to pay Paul eventually comes back to haunt you. It was inevitable.

In some people’s eyes, anything bad that’s happened with this organization in the past 20 years is all because of Mickey Loomis, anything good was because of someone else whose coattail he was riding. There’s no in-between.

That’s been the vibe for awhile now.
