Ok, You are Dennis Allen (1 Viewer)

Sign Hunter Renfroe
It is never to late to sign an overrated, often injured Raider (Hunter Renfrow.) He hasn't earned his money in 2 yrs. Thinking they are going to get Carr to work. I'm feeling I don't want Raiders left overs any more.

Agreed. Their running game is dominant for a few reasons and a big one is their WR love to block when they are called on. They take pride in it.
The Rams are also big on WR’s blocking in the run game, it’s one of the reasons I like Robinson as an OC candidate.

You guys watched the play offs. Are we a top 5 defense? No. I think we are top 10 right now, but still very close. We are just getting old. DA has made mostly good calls on defense. Good drafting will get us younger and better. I think we are in good hands on defense.

My question is, will we still be running some form of Sean's old offense, will the new OC bring his own scheme here with him.

You are DA. You know this yr is it if you don't make the playoffs and probably win a game more than likely you're gone.

This is his 6th year as a HC. He has never been to the playoffs. His career win % is bottom 15 all time at .343. As Saints coach, he is 3-11 against teams that made the playoffs (1 of those were the eagles with a backup qb and already clinched division). He plays in the weakest division in football, and hasnt won it either year with a better top to bottom roster than anyone in the division.

Im not sure there is "likely youre gone" with him. He shouldve never been given the job, he shouldve never kept the job, and he damn sure shouldnt still have the job.

There is a lack of accountability in this franchise, with Loomis living off something that happened 15 years ago. The lights are off, and the future is bleak until Allen is somehow sent packing.

Last year, you all said "Allen will be the coach next year, get over it". And look how that turned out. Couldnt win the weakest division, with the weakest schedule with the better roster.

Theres none of that this year. The pitch forks stay out, there is no threat to this franchise as great as Dennis Allen being the head coach.

NEVERDENNIS.

If you were DA in a make or break season, you think you would be better off with a rookie than Lattimore?

This is one of the big questions for next year. I think many fans would be OK with making longer term moves that might not mean much for 2024 but would help rebuild in the future (trade Lattimore if you can get a 2nd rd pick, etc.) but with DA not getting an extension he needs to make the playoffs next year, so if you're DA who cares if they keep kicking the salary cap can down the road if he's about to get fired anyway. So DA's going to value the player over the pick, I think.

But then again, Lattimore was reportedly one of the 'problem children' who weren't happy with DA, so maybe that relationship is toast anyway.

But it seems logical to me that DA will want to push all his chips in for 2024, which carries with it some different moves than a longer term approach.

You said be realistic. And I gave a realistic synopsis. I read your “realistic” approach to the season and looked like I was reading a script to the movie Draft Day lol. “Lets just sign every high profile assistant coach and key free agents then hit on every draft pick” basically sums up what you said. And I’d love you to keep the receipts and what are we betting? Are you betting the Saints finish with more than 6 wins next year?? Because I’ll totally take the under!!!
You really don't read posts very well do you? Nowhere did I say be realistic in my 1st post. Where did I say sign every high profile Ast coach ??? Nor did I say sign key FAs I said sign good not great ones. And also NOWHERE did i say hit on every draft pick I said pick starters or SOON to be starters on OL and DL . With the state of our OL and DL finding those players @ 14 and with Denver's pick in the 2nd should not be that hard.
Sure let's make a bet , name the wager and I'll take the over 6 wins

Hey man, truce. Not looking to wage war with you. We are both on the same team. I’ll tell you what, I’ll answer your question for real. If I were DA:

1. Make sure OC hire aligns with whatever direction you wish to see the offense go. For better or for worse. Everyone must be on the same page heading in one direction. Regardless of right or wrong.

2. Trade/cut Michael Thomas AND Marshon Lattimore and try to get the best deal. Whatever that may be. Try to stock draft picks.

3. Despite any “sexy” players, this team must start with the rebuilds of the offensive and defensive line. We lost this last season in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Hopefully Penning and Turner haven’t set the team back years but as of now both huge 1st round misses. We have skill at LB and DB but DL extremely thin. Must get an elite edge rusher opposite Granderson and space eating NT to help in the run game. Is Peat the long term solution at LT. Will Penning move inside? Is Ramczyk washed? 3 huge question marks on the OL and offensive tackle must be addressed. I’d even say we need 2 more.

4. Special teams in particular the kicking game. Think John Carney here. I’d sign a proven vet. I’d rather be money from the 40 in then have a guy drill one from 58 yds then miss one from 30. And for the love of all things holy a punter with some hang time. I know analytics say Headley wasn’t terrible but just not a fan of those types of kicks. Huge gamble if not on point and not accurate in the corner or shanks one down the middle so low the coverage team isn’t even down there. That happened a couple times this year.

These things alone could be the difference in 2-3 more wins.

But then again, Lattimore was reportedly one of the 'problem children' who weren't happy with DA, so maybe that relationship is toast anyway.

The players who got used to winning, dont like losing and we are blaming them for not liking it. Those players know what a winning HC look like, and what the opposite looks like. I dont blame them for not wanting to board a ship that has giant holes in it. Thats completely fitting of the current state of this franchise. We are in a bad place in so many ways right now.

You are DA. You know this yr is it if you don't make the playoffs and probably win a game more than likely you're gone.
What are at least 5 moves you are going to make knowing you have to win this yr.
Please be real and don't say " Resign" Or " just keep doing what you're doing" or " Just keep chopping wood " Or some other lazy response.
For me it's
1, Hire Waldron for OC, Of the 3 guys mentioned as candidates he's the one that give us the best chance of winning now, Robinson and Pitcher have no play-calling experience and if I'm DA I don't need a period of time for them to figure it out and get a groove
2, If Waldron doesn't want his own OL coach fire Doug Marrone. The OL had regressed EVERY yr since we re-hired DM. 1st guy I'm calling is Roy Istvan the Ast OL coach for the Eagles, he's been learning from the best OL coach in the league Stoutland
3, Sign a GOOD LT in FA, We probably can't afford great but we can do good. Ram has said he'll be back let's hope he's better than he was last yr. if not he's a liability @ RT
4, Sign a GOOD edge rusher in FA , just like LT we can't afford a great one but a good one is in our reach.
5, In the draft unless someone like Bowers falls to 14 draft a starting or soon to be starting O lineman and a pass rusher.
6, Make developing Penning a PRIORITY1
These are all based on what we know now. Underhill said he does not expect us to hire an OC before the senior bowl so maybe anther better qualified candidate becomes available
OK , What's your plan or why you don't like mine?
1 through 4: Just keep doing what your doing
5: Apologize/grovel to a rival for having a team that doesn't respect me

1. Grow some testicles

2. Find someone else to evaluate the talent

3. Ask Rizzi to take the lead. (Cause I don't have the ability to lead)

4. Shut the hell up (So I don't keep sticking my foot in my dumb mouth)

5. Focus solely on defense, Leave the new O.C. and the offense alone.

Unfortunately, DA won't be doing any of the above.

Winning isn't in his head coaching DNA.

I'm going to hire an offensive coordinator who has been through the ringer, but probably has one last good run in him before he retires. He is going to have a lot of personal issues that he has to deal with, or perhaps a drinking problem that one of his assistant coaches helps him get under control.

Not sure what position, but I will also bring in a seasoned player who can dispense wisdom to the rookies while working on getting back with his ex who happens to live in New Orleans. The character changes that allow him to be a great mentor will help in winning her back. This will probably be his last year and he will end up retiring to be a coach.

Need to find a rookie in the draft who is brash and overconfident. He will have a rough start, but with mentoring by the above seasoned player he will become a good player and an even better teammate.

Will need to also bring in a love interest that causes some drama between the players before they eventually work out their differences.

If DA can manage to do the above, based on what I have seen he should be able to win it all.

1. Agree with you on hiring Waldron
2. Draft Mims or Latham in the first round
3. Pray there's a good edge guy available in the second round
4. Pressure Loomis to bring in a veteran OT and DE, maybe multiple DEs.
5. Make Carr and all your WRs do mandatory weekly practice together the entire off-season.
6. Really agree with you on signing away Istvan from the Eagles to replace Marrone.
7. Make peace with Lattimore, he's one of the best corners in the league and certainly the best on your team

5. Would get us fined and possibly have draft picks taking away. Otherwise I would agree.
