Mine played in HS. She's graduated from college and hasn't played in a while tho.Don’t we have a dad on here whose daughter plays competitive volleyball?
I need to ask about the atmosphere, bc the Olympics volleyball fans are clearly having more fun than any other group
This is very cool...

The triathlon didn't have to be in the Seine in Paris. The surfing competition was held all the way in Tahiti. I still can't believe that the Olympic committee wouldn't relocate that event to a river somewhere on the planet that wasn't going to force the athletes to swim through industrial waste, bacteria & raw sewerage. It would have been safer if they had moved the competition to the 17th Street Canal.I’ve been saying/thinking this all along. Sure people won gold while swimming the Seine, however let’s give it time and they will be feeling like a loser as well.
Yes similar to what I said at beginning- France does not lack for alternatives - the only thing I can figure is officials consider having the finish line at Eiffel Tower (I think that’s where it is) to be the most important considerationThe triathlon didn't have to be in the Seine in Paris. I realize that the expense to a city/country for hosting an Olympics is only justified because of the worldwide promotion/advertising that comes from two straight weeks of TV & media exposure. There's no doubt that they want the backdrop of the event to be the most famous landmark in town. But at some point the Olympic committee has to step in to demand that all conditional standards that will/could affect the athletes are met in order to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. Would they allow track & field events to be held if the lanes of the track were too slick/slippery to run on?Yes similar to what I said at beginning- France does not lack for alternatives - the only thing I can figure is officials consider having the finish line at Eiffel Tower (I think that’s where it is) to be the most important consideration
eta: I think the backdrop is Hotel des Invalides
especially since you could go to hundreds of outdoor courts all around the country and find players that could destroy 3v3Why do we slay opponents in both men and women's basketball, but are completely meh in 3 v 3? Such a head scratcher.
That women's match vs Spain was so annoying to watch. Get a big lead and choked it away with mistake after mistake.
Indeed. I'm wondering what goes into selecting the 3 v 3 players because they haven't really done much in a while in the Olympics.especially since you could go to hundreds of outdoor courts all around the country and find players that could destroy 3v3
They are going about this all wrong. This is where you go older not younger.especially since you could go to hundreds of outdoor courts all around the country and find players that could destroy 3v3
Considering the Draconian rule in track and field in regards to starting, it's shocking to hear that they reviewed it and advanced him to the finals.Oh man, that sucks for the Kenyan runner is the steeplechase. He missed the water jump and had to go back to complete it and it cost him the final qualifying spot. Had that not happened, he probably wins the heat. Pain.
