Pat Kirwan said he heard Carr didn’t want to do Saints contract restructure (94 Viewers)

It's not my opinion that DC was paid market value for a QB ranking where he was, Go look it up. It's not my opinion that he was courted by us AND the Jets , Go look it up. It's not my opinion that he signed with us on 3/6 almost a week before FA and did not take advantage of FA. It's not my opinion
Maybe you all should take a look at this. Does this sound like a guy that did not want to be here? A guy that did not care about N.O.? But from the minute he said he took his wife and family to Chipotle's a lot of you turned on him without giving him a chance or even taking his 1st snap

Agreed, people caring that he went to chipotle is hilarious. I mean how does chipotle in Nola stay in business? From people who live there going there

Just curious… would there have been any kind of realistic market for Honey Badger and Cam if they’d been cut for refusing a pay cut?

Now would there have been a market for Carr had he been cut?

Which of those three would have had a more robust market commanding the most money?

Be honest.

Carr would have made more money if the Saints cut him and he signed somewhere else. Cam and Tyrann can’t say the same. They took cuts because they’d have likely had no better options.

There’s tons of footage of Peyton Manning jawing it up with Jeff Saturday before the super bowls and playoff runs. Competitive QBs and centers calling the protections tend to rub each other the wrong way. Not saying manning and Carr are comparable as QBs - just that it does happen even without the skins.
You obviously missed the part where I said there are many players that have gotten into it with other players BUT they have skins on the wall. Carr does not.

Why would you ignore your favorite hobby of clowning people? Don’t deprive yourself of that Mr Merl! Treat yourself!
I think Merl generally favors the “meh” expression — I often think of him as “Meh-rl” and when I get “meh” from him I tell myself I just got “Meh-rled.”

😂😂
Spot on. He’s the meh king and it’s almost a badge of honor. Meh is about the only negative one I use too. Barely ever hit the clowns or the facepalms lol.

Yes, it was just a few folks but it sure rubbed me the wrong way.....there is plenty of legitimate criticism one can throw Carr's way but when folks reach like that they really expose themselves.....

I don't remember NU ever saying that either, is there video/audio proof @DSnfla ? I just remember a few folks here parroting that nonsense.....
I posted 1 already but here's another one, go to the 18:15 mark Notice the almost disgust that DC would leap to get a 1st and put the team in jeopardy. To quote Nick " I'm so down on him "

He is just expressing his opinion that he didn't like the decision to leap to try to get the first. He even says that he knows he's trying to be a team player and that there are two sides to it. That's really far from him being unfair to Carr. Reporters and fans should be able to say that they don't like a decision by a player without being accused of being a "hater". Especially when they give them credit for trying to be a team player and say there are two sides to the decision but they don't like the decision.

Are we really at the point where we can't say that we disagree with Carr's decision on a play without being called at "hater"?

1st nowhere did I call Nick a DC hater. 2nd , just expressing his opinion? He is almost outraged that DC did that , How many times did he say " I'm so down on him". And he got into it with Tripp to the point of saying when he saw DC leap he said " What the F" His veiled attempt at giving him credit really pales to the I'm so down on him on repeat. That was about as animated as I have ever seen Nick. Tripp was absolutely right if he had just ran out of bounds a bunch of people would have been blasting him for being soft or not trying hard enough. I have no problem with Nick expressing an opinion but his reaction is much more that just an opinion.

He could have easily said maybe DC should have made a business decision ( like Mathieu does most games ) and be done with it. But he goes on a rant in 2 separate podcasts

It's quite obvious that Carr is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't by the fan base and the media

He's not outraged and he's not ranting. He's just expressing his opinion. One that I disagree with by the way, but not every opinion I disagree with deserves the condescension being thrown around here or the the reserve outrage that someone would dare to have a differing opinion about football than someone else. It's something see far to often on this forum and all over social media.

Frankly, you are more likely than Nick to rant or express outrage and condescension. It's pretty much so the trademark of your posting style. So I can only assume you only have a problem with outrage and condescension, when it's something you don't agree with.

And again, Nick even talked about how there are two sides of this and how some might see it as Carr being a team player. But, of course you dismiss that because it doesn't fit the agenda you are pushing here.

What exactly is wrong with saying you are down on a player? By the way, you of course are ignoring when Brandon and Tripp noted that Nick was "Up" on Carr just a few weeks earlier. You yourself are clearly down on Mathieu. Should I be ranting at you taking a shot at Mathieu and questioning is commitment out of the blue in an effort to pump up Carr?

You like Carr and apparently see nothing wrong with his game. Most disagree with that, including Nick, but it doesn't make everyone that disagrees wrong just because you disagree. It's all opinions and the truth is that none of us really know anything outside of very few.

St. W, 77-92 and 0-1 in 11 years is not an opinion. :)

What's opinion is how much of that is on Carr and how much of that is on the coaching staff and team around him. Because stating stats means nothing without context.

I swear, the worst thing to be on this board is neutral. You must either think Carr is a god or the worst QB in the history of the NFL or you get sheet from both sides.

So repeating the same phrase over and over while waving your arms and raising your voice is expressing your opinion? Yes I am more likely to rant than Nick, but I'm just a fan, I don't get paid to REPORT on the Saints. No one trusts me to give an unbiased report on the team. And also to give info on what the team is doing.

My reference to Mathieu is to show contrast to the treatment he gets against what DC gets. I do like Mathieu, he has declined lately especially making tackles but he still have value.

Funny thing is I don't have this great preference that DC be our QB. I think he is an above avg QB that can be very good with the right coaching and a good ( does not have to be great) supporting cast. He can very well be a very good bridge QB, simply because he's 34 until we find the franchise QB. He can easily be as good ad Goff with the right pieces around him.

What bothers me, yes to the point of semi-outrage is the personal attacks Saints fans have spewed on him, just the way I would have if it were on any player, coach or FO personnel. That kind of behavior puts us in the same category as Eagles fans and I always though we were better than that.

It was the same way with all the Penning bashing. When it gets to personal attacks like " Turd in the punch bowl personality " comments I think it goes too far. If people are outraged about his play on the field , comment on that but, Guy-liner and where his family eats and all the personal stuff should be left out of it, don't you think?

If you take this as condescending , that was not my intention. I happen to agree with you about 75% of the time.
