N/S Patriots hire Jerod Mayo as Head Coach (2 Viewers)

I guess never say never, but there's a 0.00001% chance that Mayo is let go this week. Kraft has been grooming Mayo for this position and picked him in his mind 5 years ago as Belichick's successor. It's just not going to happen. Could there be some schism sooner, rather than later? Sure. But there's no (0.00001%) chance it's happening now.

They're going to get Ben Johnson, aren't they :covri:

If Drake Maye pans out they'll have they're pick of the coaches in the offseason.
This!

And This!

Remaining Schedule: NYJ, @Ten, @CHI, LAR, @MIA, IND, @ARZ, @BUF, LAC, BUF

With their remaining schedule they'll be lucky to win 4 games this season. They probably won't.

Kraft may be patient no matter what the W/L record is for 2024 but they will have to at least be competitive in most of their remaining games for Mayo to survive. A win this week against the Jets would go a long way.

It may be to hard for Kraft to pass on the likes of Ben Johnson and a few others who will be available in 2025.

Yep his best receiver from 2013 on was Edelman. Gronk was his only other reliable option

Probably him starting Brisset for so long over Mayes hurt things
A rookie for four games? If anything, it's the success of Caleb and Jaden. Kraft knew the plan, so here we go with some more bull jive. It's Boston, so I shouldn't be surprised.

Say what you will, Brady did it without a lot of talent around him. And the cupboard is still very bare.
That's right Maye is the next QB GOAT, they should have started him from day one.

Brady also only played in that one scheme for his entire career (well, he did a half of season of Bruce Arians offense before struggling). Being allowed to develop in a system and master it is what allowed him to do this and having top 10 defenses year after year didn't hurt.
