Alert! Patriots trade DT Davon Godchaux to the Saints for 2026 7th round pick (104 Viewers)

Not crazy about the player at 30 but he's a much better scheme fit. So could work out well. At his current contract its not bad at all. Have to see what they do there though.

First: this is giving me that low key 2006 Jeff Faine / Hollis Thomas 'improve the team core through low cost trades' warm & fuzzy feeling.
Second: it gives the LSU section a local player to cheer for
Third: Best Nawlins name since Delvin Breaux

I really like those low cost/low key veteran additions to build the core/foundation of the team especially when you have a regime/system change.

Josina with another mention of a contract adjustment, this time directly involving the Saints. This seems potentially relevant as it pertains to her mention of a team needing Goedert’s contract adjusted in order to facilitate a trade. Makes me wonder if she has an inside source in New Orleans giving her this extra level of detail and it could be providing us a hint as to what team she’s referring to with the Goedert talks.

Possibly a reach, but it’s just a thought.

Good news - Seems like the run stuffer we have been missing.

Bad News - He will count $3.2 Billion vs the cap in 2054.

Yes, but in 2054 the cap will be $312 Billion. Smh, I need you guys to learn cap economoics.

Looks like a solid move. Does this alter our draft strategy?

No, it shouldn't. If anything it's a sign to the contrary. This doesn't change who will be BPA when the Saints draft. This is a new staff so hopefully the Saints are done with trying to force the issue through the draft looking for a prototype that may not be there when the Saints are on the clock.

I was thinking the same exact thing!
